Yeah, but people that buy prebuilt usually doesn't have much knowledge much less wanting to tinker..

Anyway, this guy is from canada and the weather is pretty cold there, i went to his youtube page to check his location. This explains the temp readings.

true for prebuilt user normally they prefer not to playing bios or OC.

nevertheless I am actually quite impressed with this prebuilt bios setting available for the users from Asus, and if TS take advantages of it as the training ground, he could be one of the DIY user in future with more confidence.

5800x definitely run hot compare to previous generation, and the youtuber suggest undervolted the cpu to 1.1v to lower the temperature overall, I believe even this cpu is undervolted it can still power the 3070 in gaming without any hiccups.

by the way have you try to undervolted your CPU to 1.1v and playing games for temperature control for a period of time?

Not yet, so far all I did was using 75% of PBO defaults and -5 co, it has worked well for me. In gaming, clocks will boost higher and not fall as much, temps are better too.

Will monitor for a few weeks or at least a month before further tuning it. I will usually keep a log of my bios setting, driver updates and crashes. This way easier to keep track if anything happen can rollback.

The reason why I do this is because usually passing stress tests won't be an issue, but with normal usage then the problem arises. The more settings are tuned in, the more difficult it gets to figure out which 1 is causing the problem.

Hi,

https://shopee.sg/(Ready-Stocks)NEW...-3070-W10-3Y)-i.10402.10845585309?position=10
I came across a desktop and find it a good combination of Ryzen 7 5800X and RTX 3070. It is ASUS ROG Strix GA15 G15DK-R5800X255T Gaming Desktop. Any advice / experience for this desktop?

As I posted previously in my thread in Sep (I think it was archived), I wanted to buy a pre-built desktop which is optimized to handle 3D modelling, animation and rendering which utilize software such as : Cinema4D, Blender, Zbrush, Photoshop, Illustrator and AfterEffect for work purposes. I will also use it for occasional gaming.

I understand that it is better to get a Desktop GPU as it performs much better than a Laptop GPU. You can read more on my reasons on getting a pre-built gaming desktop via this link [https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...3d-modelling-rendering-and-animation.6593693/]

However, I can't find this desktop in local big distributor stores (E.g Courts, HN, Best Denki, Gain City, Challenger|Hachi.Tech); all stated sold out.

I managed to find a store in Shopee (Gamepro Store) which is selling this desktop (5 in stock). Did anyone have experience buying from Gamepro? Just want to know more about them; whether they are reliable & etc. Thanks.
Have bought peripherals from there quite a few times, been pretty good so far... delivery was fast as well. My friend bought his razer laptop from there as well... no issues too

Hi all,

Pardon for not being active in this thread which I created; I was busy with IRL stuffs.

I have read all your feedbacks which I greatly appreciated.

I am not concerned in the type of cooling system for the pre-built PC and their respective pro & cons (E.g. Air cooler running loud at full load, insufficient cooling for CPU )

I just want to have a combination of substantial hardware components which allows me to perform both 3D works and gaming within a PC at an affordable price (Budget 3.1K max). I have no preference in gaming with ultra high settings; I can even enjoy playing game @ 1080p.

As I mentioned earlier, I will be using 70% of the time with this PC for 3D modelling, animating and rendering. That is the main focus.

After much research and consideration, I streamlined two PCs and decided to make the purchase during the upcoming Shopee 11.11 sale (it has about $200 discount voucher max), in the following sequence (in case it got sold out during the sale as there are limited stocks):

1) Lenovo LEGION T7i [https://shopee.sg/-RTX3070(220W-Len...0?sp_atk=2498b247-6876-4a48-9ffd-c03bef6771fb]

2) ASUS ROG Strix GA15 G15DK-R5800X255T [https://shopee.sg/(Ready-Stocks)NEW...9?sp_atk=c831de2c-2d8b-4034-b4b2-47f1d6ac7be7]

Both of their prices will be about 2.8 to 2.9K after using the Shopee vouchers. It is quite a good offer (cheaper when compared to Aftershock custom PC with roughly similar specifications).

I may do some modifications to the PC in the future (e.g. swapping a suitable and better cooler for the ASUS G15DK). Well, that's after the 3 years warranty and me learning more about PC building.

Hi cloudangel, thanks for your feedback with this seller. Will consider purchasing from this seller.
