All the best,
www.hardwarezone.com.sg

I disagree with this infraction as this thread was created on 6.45pm while my next previous thread was created on 3.01pm, giving it a gap of 3 hours and 45 mins, thus showing that this is not a spam thread.

Furthermore, I did not bump this thread at all. The only reply I made in this thread is a response to a comment posted by another user.

The content posted is also just a GPGT thread that is commonly found and posted on EDMW.

I believe my threads have not decreased the quality of use for other users in any way.

Please kindly assist me with this appeal. Thank you very much!

Can you first explain the purpose of posting this?

Thank you for your reply.

I think Dr Vijay have touched on this topic before.

3) Posting photos of others or ladies.

We get it. You guys enjoy sharing nice photos of others.
Nothing wrong with that – this has been ongoing for a very long time and we don't disallow it.

The exception is when you go overboard with lewd comments, be prepared to get infracted. What happened to the days when people just +1 because they liked a photo or pass decent compliments? Often the comments are really demeaning. If you can’t abide by the said rules above, throwing a fuss about it only makes it worse for you as you’re in the wrong to begin with. Yes, we probably haven’t infracted everyone else for similar offences, but neither are we screening every post in the forum. That means you’re already given a hall pass despite the forum rules. If you’re warned/infracted, just take note and move along.

Apart from commenting, if you’re aim of posting someone’s photo is to ridicule or cause harm to them, then we’ve all rights to remove the post or the discussion, again that’s in accordance to the rules. It’s also common sense, no? Yes, the photo (and related info) may be publicly available, but your intention of starting a particular topic with regards to that content is the key issue. Let’s take an example of a knife – it’s easily accessible to anyone and you typically use it to cut meats or other equivalent food. It’s harmless, until you intend to use it to stab someone. See the difference?

Does that mean you can automatically post any publicly available photo? Not really.

i) Someone might write in to object the use of their photo in the discussion because they aren’t comfortable with the association of the discussion or just any public exposure. You might say it’s on the internet, but the user may not have secured his/her social profiles and related image banks, for which we do advise them at the time of complaint to keep such publicly accessible content private. This is related to the intention and use of the image by the threadstarter.

ii) If you post riske, naked, close-to-naked, provocative or pornographic related images, they will be removed and you will be infracted. There’s a limit to what’s tolerable and decent. This forum board is meant for all walks of life and age and we would appreciate if can respect this. If you require adult entertainment, there are other boards to use.

Point to note:

1) As per what Dr Vijay, and personal experience of 8 years of using EDMW, it has been a very normal thing to post GPGT threads.

2) As per what he said, my threads don't fall into the category of "lewd comment, ridicule, cause harm, riske, naked, close-to-naked, provocative or pornographic related images." TBH, the pictures are more conservative than what you would see on swimming pool or a beach.

3) I create less than 10 threads a day on average, of which less than 5 are GPGT threads, with only 1 thread on the front page at any one time. I don't see how my activities are negatively affecting the user experience of others.

Lastly, as a personal feedback, I've been in this forum since 2000 and have been a registered member and contributing here since 2009. KYM threads have always been here and is an entertaining culture of EDMW. As long as reasonable limits are observed, I don't see why there is a need to persecute us content providers.

People just love pretty girls. It's that simple.

After reading your long post, you still did not answer the simple question. :s13:

Can you first explain the purpose of posting this?

And do they consent you - written or verbal , as a "content provider" as you have claimed you are - to represent them?
They are not commodities, so don't put a spin on the words of others to justify that what you post is right - cause the contexts could be off. The last we want is for this small issue made to be made a molehill just because of some different interpretation of words.

I m sure you, my learned and self righteous friend knows where i am coming from.

So, back to the question, what is the intent for posting such pictures?

Look, it's just a normal gpgt picture thread that is so common on EDMW.

The models willingly posted their pictures on the internet for public consumption to increase their fame.

Don't make it sound like I'm degrading them or something.

I don't understand why you want to make a simple thing so complicated.

There isn't even any hidden agenda or meaning in my thread. It is a straight clear cut KYM thread for entertainment purpose.

Thanks for clarifying your purpose. :)

p.s. did you seek permission from the blog /site that such pictures are posted on? These are generally subjected to copyright laws.

These are screenshots from a Youtube video.

As for the copyrights thing, we all know that these pictures are meant for public consumption considering that they are photos uploaded to the Internet, that are not behind any forms of privacy, by the models.

Which is an understandable thing to do as they want to increase their fame.

If the threads that I have created are phrased in any ways to demean or insult them, I can understand the infraction.

But let's be honest here, the thread that I'm infracted for is clearly reasonably named and the decency of the photos that I have posted are definitely acceptable by Singapore's standards.

In no ways or means have I made any defamatory or insulting statements on the models whose pictures I have posted.

Noted on what you have said. Do note that photos uploaded can be for private consumption or for a modelling portfolio but are leaked / uploaded to say a 3rd party site which you or anyone else may obtain without consent from the parties involved i.e. the photographer and the model or the agency and the model. So it is a grey area here. Am advising you based on that.

Thanks for the video link. Based on the video and its implied context. It is in my opinion that the infraction should stay.

Have a nice cooling evening :)
