Hi,

Am looking to upgrade / overhaul my current rig on a budget of ~$500.
Don't need monitor, OS, DVD Drive.

Purpose is normal internet surfing, watching 1080p shows, very light gaming possibly D3, SC2, Football Manager not very graphics intensive, and climb bukit timah hill.

Prefer to reuse casing and power supply, so may have to work within PSU limits and case size limits.

Any pros can recommend parts?

Scrap and Upgrade:
AMD Athlon X2 6000+ Brisbane 3.10Ghz 1Mb L2 Cache
Biostar TA790GX XE
Powercolor HD4850 512MB GDDR3 PCS (AC)
2Gb Kingston PC2-6400 CL6 800Mhz

Keep if possible:
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500Gb 7200rpm
Samsung 22X DVDRW Super-Writemaster
Seasonic M12II 430W ATX12V Modular
Silverstone SUGO SST-SG02-F
22" LG Flatron W2242T
Genuine Windows 7 Professional x64

Check if they still have the following mobo

Asrock B75M DGS + i5-3350p ~ $271
Crucial 8gb 1600mhz ~ $89
Powercolor 7750 1gb ~ $122

Total ~ $482. Buy at tradepac. DIY

Might need to add additional $20 more for non complete full rig.

Thanks Roy, bump for alternative suggestions?

My case now is rather small, plus due to wanting to keep the PSU,
the size and power of the new components have to be considered right?
Any pros who know the specs well?
