Hi all, below are the SIM-UOL YR 1/2 textbooks for sale:
1. Economics an Analytical introduction
Amos Witztum
Useful for students taking introduction to economics. Studying the book along with lecturer's notes have proven to be effective (allowed me to score a first class honor grade)
2. Introduction to mathematical economics
Edward T. Dowling
This book is particularly helpful for those taking math 1 and is weak in foundation or needing good practice questions (the book has solutions to all questions). Essential for examination preparation.
3. Mathematics for economics and finance
Martin Anthony & Norman Biggs
This book on the other hand has less practice questions but explains concepts and mathematical methods well.
4. Management & organisational behaviour
Laurie J. Mullins
For students taking intro to business management. Great examples and illustrations for better understanding.
5. Sociology
James Fulcher & John Scott
A good book for PSOC students. As you all know, it is difficult to score for PSOC without good examples. This book provides relevant and useful examples which would be a bonus if used in exams.
6. Statistics for Business and Economics
Paul Newbold, William Carlson, Betty Thorne
Useful to students taking stats 1/2.
7. Macroeconomics
Dornbusch, Fischer, Statz
This book is for year 2 students taking macroeconomics. It provides a 'easier to understand' approach to macroecons. The diagrams are relatively easy to comprehend & summary at end of chapter gives a good overview.
8.Foundations of corporate sucess
John Kay
For students taking strategy course, this book provides extensive examples. It is probably one of the management books with the most examples.
