All Sennheiser products should come with a local warranty card, but sometimes the dealer might just forget to pass it to you during the purchase. I haven't seen a fake HD598 though.

Well, long story. I got it from a shop in funan ... The receipt says "export set, no warranty" I went to check with them the next day, they told me it is a printing mistake/error, so I asked for warranty card, and they told me there is no warranty card. Today, suddenly I had an idea to google the shop and the first link from google is to them selling fake senn... put 1 and 2 together, but i really don't know

Sennheiser has international warranty, but you have to pay extra for admin stuff if it is an overseas set. As long as you have the receipt of the actual purchase (if the seller purchase from amazon, he must email/inbox u receipt) u can ownself send it to Sennheiser service centre if anything goes wrong.

Anyway, you bought it knowing that it has no warranty... so ultimately is your fault :o To determine if it is fake or not, open it up (the screws) and compare the insides to pics you can find online. Another possibility is that it might have been an open box set.

Ts. Tell you what. You look at your box. There should be a shiny sennheiser sticker. It's a small square sticker. That's usually one of the ways to determine real or fake.

Alternatively. You can contact them again and ask. If no warranty card how to claim local warranty. Plus show them the reciept. Best if can get email or black/white. Farle is a distributor. They should not be selling parallel imported goods.

If you do not get a satisfactory reply. Bring it up to sennheiser. There's someone selling their goods at srp without warranty. Action should be taken.

On a side note. I wonder if stereo is nice enough to verify the authenticity of the product. If they are. You can bring down to them to check. At least you know if you were scammed.

Farle does not have a good reputation. At least from what I've read so far.

Last check with Sennheiser that they do not cover sets purchased from certain countries, like UK. Might need to check that again to confirm.

Is there a round sticker Shiny Shiny one , stating , 2 Years Warranty , and small words indicating that it is distributed by pantrade? This will confirm that this is a local set.

I was once an active member of an anti-fakeheadphone forums elsewhere.

I remember we had 2 cases of people who kena sold fakes at Farle. Fake Senns in SG are not uncommon, there was a blog selling fake Senns (run by an NP student). The last time I recalled, availability of fake Senns are from earbuds right upto the HD 598 (no cases of HD 600/650/800 being faked).

Sian, sometimes in SG, we have to pay extra just to get the confidence that the headphone is truly genuine...

Regarding overseas sets, from previous experience, SG service centre will not cover sets purchased outside of SG/SEA. If bought from USA for example, must pay extra fees. Or, you can ship it to Senn USA for servicing then ship it back, all at your own cost of course.

Hi seekiat,

All local sets purchased comes with our genuine sticker on the product and a warranty card issued separately by our dealer. Sometimes our dealers may have forgotten to issue the warranty card.

Farle is our Authorized Dealer and does carry the HD598.

Thanks all for the help. I went to check my set last night, seems to have all the necessary stickers on the box, including from Pantrade.

I guess I got paranoid yesterday when I did not get my warranty card and the very first link from google search on Farle Funan is them selling fake senn. A chain of unfortunate events.
