Has anyone done this surgery before? does it help with sinusitis? It seems that I have deviated septum on the left side of my nostril such that it has caused some difficulty in my breathing. I also have some discomfort in my ear where it seems that there is something stuck in the inner ear and the upper jaw part. I read that this could be due to the deviated septum where the block airpipe is linked to this area of the inner ear. I am not sure if Septoplasty can provide any aid in my situation or is there other treatment available. Appreciate if anyone who has underwent such treatment offer his experience. Thank you

Mine was snoring and back drip of mucus; visited ENT specialist to check it out. Was diagnosed with deviated septum and went for the surgery to correct it.

Thanks for all the replies. I have not seen the specialist yet. Was trying to get a referral first. Now seeking opinion if there is other treatment for sinusitis due to deviated septum

Does it help and if it was a permanent correction? Will the same issue come back later again?

Got a friend that did FESS rather than Septoplasty for his sinus issue. The actual treatment will depend on what the specialist recommends.

Forgot to mention I have sinus too. After the surgery, my morning sneezing has been resolved but not for my snoring. I seen the specialist at Mount E Orchard. He is good and he took time to explain to me on the symptom and the surgery.

Sad to say that this surgery doesn't solve my back drip issue. He suggested I go for another surgery to permanently stop the back drip. This surgery is cost about 28k and it is a day surgery.

Thanks for reply. do you mind to share your doctor name? is the back drip causing your snoring?

How about your septoplasty surgery? how much does it cost? what is the name of the other surgery to fix the back drip?

Thanks for the sharing on the FESS treatment, I will raise it to the doctor once I get the referral. my primary issue is the issue at the ear and jaw area. It has caused the area near the jaw to become stiff and the discomfort has increased over the years. Initially I thought it is TMJ but somehow after seeing the dentist, my jawline is normal. I suspect it is due to the deviated septum which FESS might not be able to treat

My doctor is Dr Lim KH. The name of his clinics Dr KH Lim Ear Nose Throat clinc. The cost of the surgery done in 2024 was $16476.76. I chose private specialist was because they operate on Saturday and short waiting time. Dr Lim charges additional $50 for Saturdays' appointment.

The procedure to fix back drip is called ClariFix. Using nitrogen to burn the nerves in the nose area.
