Last day was on the 10th June...

My company was nice, they gave moi 2 months of pay plus encashed whatever leave that I was unable to clear...

My package was slightly above $7k...

So low, meanwhile most I knew retrenched are paid 1 mth for every year work. C suites asked to stepped down are paid lump sum too.

There is not such law that company such pay 1 year work service = 1 month pay.

It's all depending whether co has sufficient cash flow. Staff salary amount and no of working years.


My hubby joins his company for 12 years and during his service went through 3 retrenchments. First one co pay 1.1 month till max 24 years . 2nd n 3 Rd 1 month to max 24. All retrenchment has no salary cap limit. For his co , retrenchments were not due to poor business. Co shifted their HQ from sink to china. Imagine most of his colleagues worked more than 10 years. His superior (high than director role) worked 27 years got layoff. He got at least half million .
