Stayed at People's square (人民广场) took a cab to Disney and cost RMB121. You can also take metro, line 11 final stop. The Disneyland is located close to Pudong airport. So you might want to plan at their Disney hotel first then stay in city or vice-versa.

Shanghai Disneyland - dude. Show wait times, shops, toilets, maps.. etc
Shanghai Metro - Offline metro maps of shanghai. Shows traveling time and route.
大众点评 - This is the must app for China. Search for the nearest restaurants, massage, bar, ktc.. etc. With reviews. You can even make a reservation with this app.

In short, Shanghai Disneyland is lacking in 'disney' atmosphere and was very different from HK/Japan/US. You don't feel happy there. The staff at other disneylands are usually greeting full of smiles, but the staff at this disneyland are lacking. Didn't enjoy as much.

Tickets, book directly at Shanghai disney website or 3rd party website like ctrip or kkday. Sometimes 3rd party website offers discounts with DBS/OCBC card. Bring your passport along and the staff will enter the passport number for verification. The ticket collection is actually the park's entrance. Children below 1m are free. No selfie sticks, foods are allowed. Bring empty water bottle, water top-ups are available.

For rides, I can't comment much because I only sat a few. Wait times, like other Disneyland, are long. Beware of queue cutters, keep a close gap in between the person in front of you. Since this is a very new park, fastpass has got to be collect at Guest service station. (while stocks last)

Dining, plenty of dining options available. I took my lunch and dinner at Disney Town, outside of disneyland. Exit through the side gate and you can re-enter later with your ticket. There is crystal jade, Cheesecake factory, food republic, toast box, breadtalk... etc. The cheesecake factory is awesome with the same American style service and food. Portion is huge, food is excellent. Disney ticket holders get 10% off. (not sure till when)

Other than the dining shops at disney town, there's also retail shops like LEGO, samsonite, UGG.. etc

Wifi, is weak. At some parts of the park, there's totally no signal.

Mickey’s Storybook Express aka magical parade is too short. Lasting only 14 mins (on their website).

Did not stay for their fireworks. Heard the Lion King musical is good.

Think Tokyo Disney still the best. Although the waiting time really sian....

Totally agreed with you about booking through third party websites. Never believed in wasting time to queue for the tickets on the day itself.

I booked my ticket to tokyo disneyland through kkday. They confirmed my ticket with me within 24hours and the booking was really easy and fuss-free. Apparently, the ticket also guarantees entry if there was crowd control, but luckily i didn't have to go through that situation.

It's definitely worth giving kkday a shot, i've tried a couple of tours and themepark tickets with them before. They usually offer it at cheaper prices than the ones over the counter.
