Advice specific to NTU:

1. Study what you are interested in. If you are in a major that you have no interest in then no FCH for you.

2. Go on at least one exchange. Every course will have that one or two killer mods and most "smart" people will clear them overseas.

3. Take easy electives to boost GPA. Study the list of modules you can take as electives and see which are easiest or better yet those that overlap with modules you've taken before. For example, if you are a science/econs/biz student you probably have taken stats before. Then you should also take HP1100 Fundamentals of Soc Sci Research. Take it in semester 1 with freshies. Pwn them with your stats background lol.

4. If you are in engin and have very little electives to play with, DONT waste electives on pass/fail modules or online modules like forensic science. Its better to take an easy elective like Astro and score an A/A-.

5. Dont take a module with the intention to S/U it. Its better to spend time finding an easy module where you can score A/A- in.

Agree with 1 and 2 but for me i S/U all my elective because an A- pull ur cgpa down while A isn't really that easy after all. Spend the time i will spend in studying elective to study my core nake more sense to me and ace them well. If you can't do well in your core, you won't get FCH anw. For all my elective i nvr spend more than 3 hrs b4 finals to study it since it really quite impossible to fail an elective mod in NTU

General advice. (for mechanical engineering at least)

Like what you study. Love what you study. Derive everything from scratch. No need to remember anything. Treat your homework as tests. Challenge your tutor. Ask more questions. Aim for full marks in everything, 99 and below is unacceptable. Study everything, even if it isn't going to come out in exams.

If you are somewhat like this, mech eng should be easy AF.

Love the subject > Determination

Lets say if you like airplanes. You would already have researched how they fly, how the engines work, principles behind flight etc etc. Uni knowledge would then be just penning down all the theories and working through a few examples. Everything can be easily if only you love it.

If you seriously believe that, then life must be tough for you. Studying is probably the easiest thing compared to the responsibilities when you hit adulthood.

Alr stepped in to adulthood. :s8:

Studying surely is easy. To excel in it is a different story. I supposed you must be a FCH graduate :)
