Sharing HDD between Mac and AC Ryan

Does anyone know whether it is possible to share a HDD between a Macbook Air and an AC Ryan HD player?

Because of the limited storage on the Macbook Air, I transfer my movies to the HDD via USB and then unplug it and plug it into the AC Ryan player, which is quite a bit of a hassle.

Is there any way for my Macbook Air and AC Ryan to connect to the HDD simultaneously?

Goto Finder, network, type "smb://your acryan IP address" then log in as guest.
Your Mac desktop will show your acryan harddisk. Drag files to it to transfer wirelessly.

if i'm not wrong, the shortcut key to bring up the connect to interface is cmd + shift + k
