Hi all,

I finally got started on my travel blog, and would like to take this opportunity to share it with everyone here. =) In it, there are postings of my own solo travel experiences to various not-so-common places, things I have learnt from the locals and detailed directions to some of the places (realised web search does not generate a lot of results for these unusual destinations when doing planning). Personal pictures are enclosed too for viewing pleasure. With this, I hope to inspire more people to try out new things, be more confident and also to look beyond the societal realm we are so used to. These blog entries are done up in series, i.e I am finishing up entries relating to my Uzbekistan trip, the next set of postings will be for Sri Lanka.

Juggling with full-time work as well as other commitments, but it is new so stay tuned for postings! =)

Thanks liftstrong! =) I just returned from Sri Lanka in July, beautiful country. Also visited the Veddas tribe people and spent a good whole afternoon chatting with the chief and his brother (2 way translation). Learnt about their customs etc. Can't wait to blog about it in detail after I'm done with the Uzbekistan series. Cheers.

Whereabouts in Uzbekistan did you go?

I did Tashkent, Khiva, Urgench, Samarkand and Bukhara, and also Almaty (Kazakhstan) in Feb/Mar.

I did Geeogia and Armenia last year. Also did the Trans Siberia a couple of years ago, including Mongolia and Russia.

Was planning Israel soon but gonna postpone. Planning Azerbaijan next year when I change my passport. Cant enter Azerbaijan with current passport.

Hi Dilphinus,

Thanks for checking the blog out! =) I did Tashkent and Samarkand, 5 days each. Quite interesting going round on my own, taking the inter-city trains. While in Samarkand, I made a day trip to Urgut the border town's Sunday market with Tajikistan. Did you managed to check that out? I will be blogging about that soon. Have been really busy with work these 2 weeks!
