P.S. There are people selling actually. But its Parallel imported (though fully unlocked). so no Telco discounts..

that's coz Japan's phones are carrier locked. Wait for them to release an unlocked version

I think Sharp is a pretty exotic brand here. But the Z2 is looking quite good in terms of specs and price. I just got a set yesterday, and first impression is really good when the shop assistant switched it on for testing. Everything is really smooth, camera takes decent pictures and the screen is also nice. I read somewhere that the screen is the same as the ones used in iPhones.

Got mine at 68 bucks with a 42 bucks M1 plan 2 year plan.

I also got mine back in April (Silver Colour) for SGD399 retail at Challenger's old BJ Store (as a replacement for my damaged Asus Zenpad 8.0), seems like it has its own soft casing provided (being an exotic model means finding compatible accessories is next to impossible to have as no one other than the official distributor for the phone would be allowed to sell accessories, which i had to purchase separately the 9H Screen Protector for that device straight from the distibutor's web store), expect the same treatment for the OnePlus 5 here as well!

AFAIK, Sharp Z2 remains the ONLY smartphone/tablet to possess this MediaTek Helio X20 that carries local warranty. The other possible option the Xiaomi's Mi Note 4 only has the more pricey Snapdragon 625 International Edition available for local SIM use. Although synthetic matchup tests using AnTuTu shows the X20 crushing the SD625 in performance aspects, with that comes the drawback of inferior battery efficiency so having a power bank handy would be very useful to complement the 3,000mAh battery the Z2 possesses. Literally, it has RAM and Memory rivaling Samsung's Galaxy S7, two-and-a-half times cheaper!

Even under load it has pretty okay heat management (my unit never exceeds 56 degrees centigrade CPU temps) that can be pretty easy to resolve under third-party apps for memory and CPU management. I do have a relative whose Galaxy S7 Edge often runs in the 60-87 degrees burning range with its Exynos 8890 SoC. Z2 is basically operating as not much differently from a Google Stock OS Marshmallow with some additional Sharp Original Apps and Launcher, including (throwback surprise!) an Offline FM Radio App which modern smartphones/tablets don't even possess! Probably a takeaway from the Japanese love of their own local radio stations being brought here perhaps... and the USB-C port is a welcome bonus for forward-looking purposes.

Probably for a powerful-specced phone (4GB RAM + 32GB Memory is nothing to be sneering about given its asking price), the stock Marshmallow OS could end up being a dragdown due to one of its most hated function: The inability to transfer Apps to the SD card which is more Google's fault than Sharp's. But certain "niche" things I do with phones (running modded apps and custom launchers as well as tweaks here and there) pose no challenge for the phone which I personally rate above average overall and good for its software flexibility.

PS for the curious: This device is sold only under M1 Retailers as Singtel and Starhub didn't partner with the distributor here (Layman Term: M1 Exclusive Phone). Some M1 Shops actually offer this phone FOR FREE with signups of any Mobile Line from SGD42/month and above plans. Although since it has dropped the price to FOC with ANY of their Mobile plans now...
