will be there for a short business trip...staying near Ritz Carlton area

any good buys to recommend there, which of course is convenient to bring back to Singapore and cheaper than or not available in Sg?

One thing I can think of is Krispy Kreme.

Kueh lapis can clear Sg custom right?
Yup. My Indonesian friends brought it for me from time to time. But the nice ones are expensive. Sometimes I feel that it's better to just buy it in Singapore.

Don't buy Krispy Kreme because it will open at Tangs from 1 October.

Depending on your budget, here are some ideas:
  • Batik shirts from Batik Keris. They even have Disney designs for kids, which I find quite unique. Most larger malls should have an outlet. Here's a complete list (look at the left-most column): Batik Keris
  • Local cakes and pastries such as "pisang molen" (one of my favourites) from Kartika Sari, or other local pastries from Holland Bakery or Monami. They have several outlets at major malls.
  • Local dry snacks such as banana crisps. There's a shop called Aneka Citra Snacks that sells those. Google them or try their facebook page to find their outlets. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Anek...ia/225054424233355?id=225054424233355&sk=info
  • Instant noodles! Visit any of their hyper markets and be spoiled for choice.
  • Coffee and tea. Some of my friends love a brand of tea called Prendjak. It costs like $0.50 for a box of 25 tea bags. It's some kind of black tea that has a hint of rose aroma.
  • Peanuts, if you love peanuts. They have a lot more variety than what we have here in Singapore.

Except for the first 3 items in the above list, most of these can also be found in Batam. :D

Btw, which Ritz Carlton (Mega Kuningan or Pacific Place)?

actually you need a local to bring you around the really good ones, and not at all expensive.

instant noodles standard indomie, but their selection have more than us in SG. and SG have to go to specific place to get my beloved Jumbo pack.

and if you have chinese ctcs over there, ask them to bring you go eat pork. i dunno why but they can roast it better than sg common hawker.

protip #1: if you hungry in the middle of the night and wants to order food, call PHD, Pizza Hut Delivery, and ask for English speaking, you'll get your order done fast and furious style ;)

saw some cheap fisher price items in jakarta..

thinking of buying back to Spore via SIA.

Went to check out SIA baggage allowance. It seems like they only restrict on the weight but not the size of the items.

the items i am looking at is those baby walkers. Light in weight, but the size is a packaged box which have to be separately checked-in as an individual baggage.

any advice? TIA
