I have some emergency fund. I may not need immediately but I need to keep it available when there is an urgent need. Currently it is in POSB savings account and the interest rate is very low.

what is the best option ? where can I deposit and get decent return?

OCBC 360. Best option for short term.

For fuss free, open CIMB Starsaver Account. 0.8% p.a is 16 times more than POSB's 0.05%. If you open current account, got free cheque book too.

If you can meet at least 1 bonus interest criteria, consider OCBC 360 for 1.05% p.a.

From now until end of May, still got SCB esaver. No condition to get 1.4%, park for 1 month then move on....

What you said is true. CIMB Starsaver gives 16x more interest than POSB. Can't understand if anyone place more than necessary in POSB/DBS.

Anyway I just did fast transfer from CIMB to SC esaver when I noticed that my Mar average balance was only $1.7k and I should be getting 1.35% from SC.

My very simple. End of Feb was $1.7 and end of Mar also 1.7k plus some interest. Hence average daily balance about 1.7k in Mar.

Otherwise, calculate yourself based on daily balance in Mar.

1) UOB One or OCBC 365 if you are willing to put in some work for higher interest rates.
2) Utilise the bank top-up promotions that are offered frequently (eg, UOB, SCB).
3) If you can't be bothered with the two options above, go for CIMB StarSaver account for no-frills 0.8% p.a. (but do note that you need an incremental balance of at least $100 per month for the savings account).
