660 is good enough for Dota2 actually... Check your temps when gaming. Also, did u OC it? It could also be the thermal paste dried up, so if its still under warranty, bring back to distro to ask them help u apply new thermal paste.

Are you running any programs in the bg which might be cpu intensive?

before I upgraded I was running a similar setup with gtx 560ti and I didnt lag when playing dota.

A single 660 can handle dota 2 at max setting easily. Maybe the card is starting to fail or due to poor ventilation.

My casing is the cm haf 912. The Max temp is 80 when I Max the settings with vsync off. With sync on , it will drop to 30 fps with some intense gang fights even with most settings turned off.

80 degC when dotaing? High chance the thermal paste in ur gpu dried up le, cant transfer heat efficiently enough and thus maybe throttle. Bring to distro to ask them help u reapply.

Which tool to accurately check for 100 % load temp? Now I no time to go change it

Can try heaven benchmark, valley benchmark, 3Dmark (paid ver). use gpu-z or msi afterburner to check temps.

Those tests shld b more intensive than dota2. Just dun use furmark as it is more stressful than those that i mentioned and can potentially kill ur gpu.
