Should i increase my ram speeds?

Feel like buying new ram sticks.. currently using 3000MHz clocked down to 2933MHz ryzen only support 2933 and 3200.. feel like getting 3200..
some ocd in me occuring..

marginal increase for more money.. if u can bear to lose some cash why not

If you're looking at price/perf, not worth at all. Also no guarantee it will run at 3200 today. You might have to loosen timings excessively, run at 2T command rate, etc just to get 3200 stable..

Pointless. Just push your current 3000mhz ram to 3200mhz. It should not fail.

Loosen the timing a bit. You should get 3200mhz.

i will try, haven't tried this sort of stuff before.
Set to 3200 and start off with loose timings like 18-20-20-39 2T, DRAM 1.38V, SOC (uncore) 1.1V or something. If this is stable, start to reduce those voltages and tighten the timings as far as it will allow you to while remaining stable.

Depends leh. If going from, say, 2933 C14 to 3200 C16, the increased memory bandwidth should outweigh the increased latency. But I guess you're right- for the insane amount of time and effort usually required to tweak it, plus additional voltages, the performance gains won't be worth it. It will be almost unnoticeable.

As per comment by AMD and people familiar with the matter
(e.g. the stilt), there is a "memory hole" (memclk "hole") with the IMC hardware in a certain amount of Ryzen die samples.

The "hole" is typically located over 3200MHz but at least the stilt who's been in close contact with got confirmation some chips have "holes" beginning lower than 3200MHz. Its another variable you'd have to consider aside from BIOS maturity, board and RAM sample.

Those that require workaround to attempt 3200+, AMD_Robert mentions tweaking CLDO_VDDP. Its also mentioned by other insiders.

2933MHz at decent timings is still the best low hanging fruit to go for.
