Should I learn C++?

I have about 10 years experience in Java, starting programming in J2SE 1.3 commercially for a small software company. From there, I moved on to specialising in multiple Java-based enterprise technologies. To name a few, products such as jBPM, Hadoop, SOLR, JBOSS, Tomcat. To improve myself, I always read and appreciate source codes from open source projects and often get marveled at how people solved problems in creative ways. Also, I specialise in a couple of PHP based frameworks and have delivered numerous PHP based projects over the years. As a sideline, I created Wordpress plugins and sell them off by licensing (good money .

Also I am very comfortable and feel very productive working in Linux based environments.

I have never really touched on Android or iOS programming. This is another area I would like to explore further. Or is more worthwhile to explore C++?

If you have not touched on mobile platforms, I believe you want to get started on them first as oppose to C++. C++ is just yet another programming language, it doesn't bring you to another area of expertise except the knowledge knowing how to operating in it.

Mobile development is another area of the industry with a different set of problems to solve. It gives you a much nearer interaction with your client's devices and also permits you to engage them more personally compared to a desktop or laptop. If you are already doing a lot of server side development, this will be a different side of development into client system that I believe will benefit you more than learning how to program in C++
