We all know that anyone can be deploy as a Clerk for the lowest PES like E but not everyone can be a Combatant. These days, SAF are shortage of Combat Fit PES servicemen to be Combatant and they keep lowering the standard for Combatant and modification of PES status for vocations.
So when this Clerk become Combat Fit, Commander have few choices. First is to do nothing and just let the serviceman serve as Clerk in his unit until ORD.
Second is to sent him for recourse which is what you have shared and this group of people will go back to their respective unit. Whether they remain as Clerk or revocation depend on their Commander. During Reservist, they no longer fall under the command of their NSF unit and up to SAF to deploy serviceman. Some may end up as Rifleman in SIR unit cause the requirement to become a Basic Rifleman is just to pass out from BMT and those who are trained in AIT will consider as Advanced Rifleman (Who mostly will end up as Sect 2IC, Team IC & Senior Buddy in a mix up section between basic and advance trained infantry section).
Third will be Commander feel that is is a waste of manpower for a Combat Fit serviceman to become a Clerk. At SAF interest point of view, he will recommend serviceman to post out to go for BMT course and risk of shortage of manpower become no new Clerk posted in as replacement. So this serviceman going for BMT course will no longer under the command of old unit and under the command of BMTC like every RECs. So after POP, it is up to SAF to deploy this sericeman to Command School or Vocational School.
I thought all the recourse personnels are put in the same company and after their POP they will go back to their respective unit?
