Should I send my kid to school?

Hi all,

I need some advise

Currently my kid is in N1 2hour in pcf , my wife is taking care of her full time. Recently due the the rise of covid cases she have not attending class for the pass weeks.

Should i continue to keep her home until covid cases come down ? Or should I just let her go back to class?

I dont think anyone can decide for you.

If your wife is SAHM and dont have difficulties taking care of your kid, definitely should keep the kid at home to play safe. hundreds of dollars monthly is not small.

On the flipside, so far the stats show that the infection on kids are much milder than the rest of age group. Since the virus is going to come sooner or later, it doesn't really matter. Just manage it like any other virus like flu, HFMD and etc.

Generally I think MTF is heading to endemic.
Restrictions which started this week is to slow down the number of cases until they can increase the healthcare capacity and majority can and accept recover at home.
So once healthcare capacity is increased, they will reduce the restrictions.
The daily cases will go up again
The unvaccinated (not eligible) children below 12 are the unprotected group

With the looks of it, today hit 2K mark already. Agreed with maserati - they are the protected and vulnerable group. Better not to take chances in my opinion. But, stay safe!

Yes u should because they can learn a lot of things in life and it also depends on what school u will send them.

If u send them to the right school it will really help them improve and become a better person in the future.

same shoe as TS with 2 young pre-schoolers.

I sent them to school due to the following,
1. how long you want to cave them up? This covid is here to stay.
2. They are able to learn and be socially adapt in society. this is important as part of growing up.
3. if putting them at home, do you have enough activities for them to keep them occupied daily?

Even you put them at home, they are not exactly protected or exactly safer, unless you also stay at home and cut off from outside world.

Better to send them to school to learn and socialise unless
1. School have cases (need extra days buffer before send them to school again)
2. Your child fall sick

Cause eventually they will need to go primary school. you will not want them to fall behind from their peers.

yes. getting them be sociable early is really critical for their development. especially now in this pandemic has taken a toll in their development.
