Should I start DIY upgrade before APP ends?

My MBP 13" Late 2011 is still in APP till Dec 2014.

1. If I upgrade to 16GB RAM and 2nd SSD, will it affect APP?

2. If my MBP breaks down during APP, do I need to fix all my original parts back before servicing?

upgraded the ram but as they service different parts, it doesnt matter.

The ram upgrade is fine. But the second SSD upgrade would break your warranty since you are removing the optical drive.

Place back your optical drive before visiting any AASP.
