Should I stop using my Hauwei Nova 3i

I recently signed for a Singtel plan and part of the contract was I got as Huaeei Nova 3i. This was less than 6 months ago.

It was really useful because when I bought it at the singtel shop, I specifically requested for a phone with a lot of memory space and the singtel staff recommended the Nova 3i, which came with 128 GB of memory space and is also dual-sim capable. It also has a slot for a micro SD card and came pre-loaded with a Netflix app.

I now heard Google has stopped providing Software services to Huawei, which worries me a lot. I have not been able to contact singtel either.


I find all these extremely worrying.


I am thinking of maybe going to a Samsung phone, I am specifically looking for something with a lot of memory space and also has dual SIM capability and wondering if the experts here have any recommendations.

Current devices are unaffected as assured by both Huawei and Google. So no worries for the time being.

Your nova 3i will still work as per normal. Just don't expect major software update.

If you have already bought one, then you got no choice but continue using it.

Why should you panic and throw the phone away?

Personally, I bought for my MIL this model too. Luckily, it is $250 only. But I think the 2 years warranty cannot make it that long.

Huawei phones still work. The only things up in the air are...

* if our current phones will still be upgraded to Android Q (most likely not). Huawei has given assurance that they'll still provide Android security updates; how quickly they can do that is the big question.
* future Huawei/Honor phone models will not get Android at all.

* future Huawei/Honor phone models will not get Android at all.

I know singtel is now doing a trade in for $100 for a Huawei Nova 3i.

Personally, I may keep my Huawei and buy a Samsung S10......

I keep wondering if the Huawei Hongmen will finally show up.
