i used to have a 600D with quite a few EF lenses

but the camera died

so i tot i buy another but dslr really heavy

mirrorless not so heavy and if i buy the EOSMF-EF adaptor, i can still use my lenses so not so wasted mah

If you really want to keep your lenses, it makes economic sense to go for the adapter. Canon's EF-M lenses are not as varied compared to the EF and EF-S lens system.

Anyway why are you considering shifting to mirrorless ?
IMO, the only reason of going mirrorless is downsizing your equipment to make it lighter.

But if you are using the bigger lens with adapter, you will only get the weight reduction on the body. Mirrorless also has the cons of having shorter battery life than DSLR. However, you do get the benefit of live preview on mirrorless.

get the canon mirrorless, get their adapter, and reuse ur existing canon lenses to the fullest. especially if u already have alot of L lenses.

depends how much you need the optical viewfinder. Since DSLR have the mirror, their viewfinder is optical not electronic. there are pro and con in either viewfinder type.

other than that they dont have any other glaring differences by now. it used to be that only DSLRs had the best tech (full frame, phase detection AF) but it's no longer the case now.

optical = you see the scene as it is in real life because it's the exact scene reflected into the view hole. Unlike electronic, you cant preview any exposure/colour changes in the viewfinder



electronic = you see a digital representation of the scene. and there may be some technical limitations depending how well the viewfinder is designed. It's very subjective but there are some people who are like, really cannot even bear to use stuff like field sequential EVF

For me using MF , SLRs and DSLRs with battery grip for yrs and getting older, I appreciate the weight savings. There are pros and cons on each side but the gap is closing, at the end of the day boils down to what are the features u need for yourself.

The biggest downside of DSLR is the banging shutter mirror...

Why stick with Canon when it has one of the worst mirorless with its half hearted approach?

My friend switched to Sony finally after struggling a few years with his Canon mirrorless simply because of sentiments with his family of S lenses.
