As the title suggest.

I was thinking just yesterday that it's a gimmick and I will just use the normal wired charging... but after researching and reading others comments, I am now on the fence.

Well the fast charging wireless works as it is. But the amount of time taken to charge is still considerably long imho. Wired is faster, but you will be attached nearby...

Else for wireless charging, it gives you freedom of picking up your phone without the restriction of wires.

The drawback of wireless charging would be.

- hot phone hot charging pad
- slightly longer time to charge, unlike fast charging through cable targets 80% charge in 1hr.
- very expensive as compared to normal chargers with quick charge.

Pros would be,

- close to clutter free
- no wires attached when you pick up your phone
- aesthetically looks good

Received my Samsung wireless fast charging pad yesterday, the phone feels slightly warm during charging. The pad has a fan internally to cool down during charging. Charging with Spigen tough armour case on no problem ,thickest of all Spigen series.

Sent from Samsung SM-G930F using GAGT

If got LED cover the battery status doesn't show. Only when use wired then it show. Moreover wireless took much longer time to charge...
