My right shoulder recently started to give me problems..
There's a pain feeling while doing pull ups, close/wide/normal grip all can feel it.
Esp the first set, but after the first set, the pain seems to go away.
IDK whats wrong, any recommendations whom I should go for checkup, and the price range?
Thanks in advance!

It could just be some tendonitis or a muscle strain, in which case you just need to give it a rest for a couple weeks. I would take 2-3 weeks rest, if it still hurts then go see a doctor. A physiotherapist first, hopefully they can diagnose it. If it's serious, you will need to see an orthopedic surgeon, which will of course be pricey.

ok thanks for the advice, perhaps I will lay off pull ups atm, seems to be the only exercise giving me the problem. If it does not go away, any particular physiotherapist to recommend?

I got same problem last time. I guessed it was from overhead press. I skip overhead press. No more pain.

Do you retract your shoulder blades?

This is necessary for most exercises for shoulder health.

The area of the pain might not always be the source of the pain.

Ensure proper shoulder stabilization with corrective exercises, stretch your traps, lats and chest on a daily basis (regardless of training frequency). In particular, traps are "always" tight and can cause unrelated pain in the upper region near the scapular and deltoid insertions.

Cracking sounds are honestly very common, partially because the shoulder is a "ball and socket" joint.

I'm not saying it's normal, but use pain as a sign of judgment.

retracting shoulder blades is pinching it at the top of the movement. At least that's what i know.

Not "i think so, I sort of lean backwards.. WUT?"

correct me if i am wrong.. to retract shoulder blade somehow u need to stick out yr chest.. so in a dangling position like pull ups when u stick out yr chest u sorta lean back i guess?
maybe i am doing wrong thats why my shoulder farks up now. lol :s13:

Also check your form for all pushing movement, particularly the horizontal presses.

Scapular should maintain a retracted and depressed position.
