Hey pros, i need some advice. Please help me. I wish you struck 4D if u advise me. LOL

Im finding themes at some themes website. So i use iphone explorer to transfer the folder to root library/themes. Then i launch winterboard select the theme. It doesnt work to my likings. So i try other themes.

Anyway, this particular theme cannot be deleted in iphone explorer. While the other theme i could delete. (Does tis mean this theme contain virus? - I didnt select this theme via winterboard, so by right i should be able to delete)

Ok, so i find a widget theme which i like with a clock on top and weather below. Then i use gridlock to position my icon so as not to cover the clock and weather.

But then the weather are there, just that the country display Hongkong instead of Singapore.

I use this zip code to edit the locale - SNXX0006 (Before changing zip code, its London timing.)

Im a noob at springboard, so please help me if you know.

Thanks alot.

Nice themes, just a quick question. Do you all have to customize your own themes or just download from cydia ?

Firstly, what theme isit that you can delete?
And, you have to replace the SNXX0006 in the widget folder(should have 1 file called config.php or similar), inside got 1 line called var locale="xxxxx"

Replace xxxx with SNXX0006

meaning still black screen?

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
-------------------------
You MUST follow these installation to make the theme work.
Theme will show BLACK SCREEN if these set up steps are not completed.

Theme requires:
"Winterboard"
"file:// for MobileSafari" module from Cydia(free)
"LockScreen Clock Hide" -- or any other plugin/module that hides the default clock.

1) Download and install "file:// for MobileSafari" from Cydia.
This will enable you to access the configuration screen.

2) Open Safari and type in this:
file:///Library/Themes/SlantedLock.theme/config.html

BOOKMARK this link so you can return to this page on Safari anytime to make configuration changes!

3) Enable SlantedLock in Winterboard. Now enjoy!
NOTE: It may take a few seconds to initialize on first time.

This set up is a tad confusing. However, you only need to do it once to benefit using the configuration with ease in the future.

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1006066

after that, go to Photo apps and select the picture u want and set it as lock screen

it takes awhile for theme to work.

Did a good amount of backlog to catch this. Followed exactly everything right.. i do have my wallpaper now but i just can't seem to set it to my own custom wallpaper.

Any idea why? Perhaps it's because of GP JB for 4.2.1 or something? :(

edit: seems like that's the case..

With 4.2.1 the iphone handles default wallpapers differently, there are in a new type of container, which is why you are not getting a background.

If you look in the html, you will probably see something like var/...../springboard/lockbackground.jpg

Or something like that, the problem is, with 4.2.1 the default background isnt stored like that, so the theme is searching for a file that doesnt exsist.

you have two options

Either make a custom set (ie make 24 copies of the same wallpaper) put in a folder in the images folder. hit config in safari, and hit custom wallpaper and the name.

Or go into the html and change the path for where the theme is searching for default wallpapers. Fks i put mine to private/var/mobile/documents/lockscreebackground.jpg/png or something like that

And this is where i got lost again.. would be glad if someone here could do a simpler step by step guide of what the quote is trying to ask the user to do..

edit2: read on and understood the situation.. it's the problem with 4.2.1..

anyone know whr is the source of the default wallpapers now? seems like winterboard/themes has to update itself to change the way it searches for the default wallpaper

or wait for the author of the theme to do the update.

Just changed to EL3MENT theme, looks very cool. Love the animated lockscreen and color scheme.
