For those who are naive, you do not needs a qualification in HR to work as HR professional.

Getting a qualification in HR such as post gad Dip in HR (SHRI) does not guarantee you a HR job.

Apart from becoming an Employment Agency Personnel which mostly required you to have CEI qualification as per regulation, HR is a profession that does not needs candidate to have relevant qualification. This applied to other professions such as sale, marketing and etc. You can do a simple search on how many HR professionals have HR qualifications in linkedin to determine if my words are true.

I have a Business Degree which cover some HR modules. The theory that you learn from HR modules maybe helpful when you reach the advanced stage of implementing policy. Depending on your HR specialization, most entry level HR jobs start off as a HR Generalist doing Operation works like Recruitment, Payroll and etc. What you needs is to know relevant regulations like employment act and formula to do payroll. From experience, you will be able to do payroll for few hundreds/thousands headcount and know the source or even build pipeline to get job candidates for recruitment.

an impressive and almost preposterous tale to be Head of HR for some without HR qualification...
