Why is this only USD $90 or approx. SGD $109 in North America.

But here its on sale for over SGD $150?

Does anyone know where I can get it here for $109?

$200 for local warranty, save time waiting, waste time contacting overseas distributor if got problem.

$90usd for warranty overseas, need to wait, haven count in shipping. And i dun think the local distributor is going to help you if one day ur earphone got problem.

So got both pros and cons la

Please try to get locally for the warranty if you are really must get this earphone. Mine spoilt on me a few times (had problems again after one to one exchange with local distributor). But is first batch not sure if newer batch is having same problem. Good luck with your purchase.

Before you think that it's worth it to save that 41 dollars and sacrifice on shipping/warranty issues, I would strongly advise you to re-consider yr decision. If you haven't been reading ard, this model has been suffering from some very serious QC batch issues lately, it's either one side of the drivers suddenly becaming dead/channel imbalance, or the earphone just totally output no sound from both channels, out of a sudden with no mishandling to the earphones itself.

I'm not sure whether is it gotta do with where these SE215 are made in currently or just Shure's factory facing production problems temporarily atm, but honestly if you are really keen in purchasing this model, please try and get the local model to get yourself covered, I'm quite sure there's no-one out there who wants to pay over 150 dollars, only to find out suddenly in a wk or two that their own SE215 are not working suddenly, despite not subjecting the earphones to any form of abuse or mishandling.

My 2 cents.

From Clieos's review, most of the problems lie with the detachable cable sockets.

i used and sold some SE215 (US set). My advice is to get local set. based on my experience and read from headfi, 1 of 4 will have problem within 3 months. Not sure about the newer batch.

Thanks for the heads-up bro, always good to warn fellow forumners in regards to QC issues in terms of products. Anyway nice to see aireth here as well, so what gear you using to listen to AKB48's vocals? :D

newer batch should not have much problems

Still, it's always better to get a local set, considering that for SE215 the overseas Amazon pricing don't differ that much from the local sets. Risking warranty is prolly too much a price to pay for some people, so it's always good to go for that extra assurance by paying slightly more, for local sets.
