Hey, I bought the Shure SE 215 LTD overseas, but the cable seems to be slightly damaged on one side. Can you PM me the replacement cable cost please?

Also, is there anyway to do a no commitment check on what is happening on my SE 215 LTD?

Thanks

Can anyone with these babies(SHURE SE215s) pls tell a bit abt how they sound? I need earphones with high bass but clarity as well and I heard these suit the bill. However I need to put them up against the Sony MDR-EXB60s which are known to rattle your teeth with bass with pretty gd overall sound. However both don't seem to be readily available in SG. Liddat how? Any opinions on these 2?

Hi! I find the Shure SE215 SPE with clearer mids say compared to the normal SE215. Former's bass is also more controlled, tighter, not too boomy. We do have them in both of our stores including the demo set so perhaps you can audition first and hear it out for yourself. I have linked here our website for your reference.

We are not carrying Sony as of the moment though.

Hey Stereo thanks for the quick reply. But I'm looking for big bass...so I don't really mind boomy bass and may actually prefer it to a tighter one. My problem is is it worth the extra bucks to get the Spe...altho the blue looks uber cool...Is it really that big a difference for an amateur earphone enthusuast? Cos I;m really limited by budget.

I actually own a set of SE215 SPE and I chose it over the normal SE215's mainly because I felt that the mids are clearer and that bass is not over-empowering the vocals. Well, you can always check out other models since at the end of the day, it will still be your judgement that will matters. Sound is always subjective, depends on how you prefer and describe the "bass" you wanted. Undoubtedly, auditioning them is one of the best solutions.

Within this price range, you might want to check out Audio Technica ATH-IM70/ IM50, Westone UM Pro 10 (balanced armature, full range, single driver) and Vmoda Vibrato Remote (with a special price promotion of $118, usual $190). Visit us to audition them ya? :)

Anyway my Shure after nearly a year the right side sound will go off and on. Was wondering is it the cable problem. Anyone tried changing the cables before and get better sounds from it?

Hi there! We only have the Shure SE215 SPE and it is retailing for $219. You can view our October promotion list on the first page of Stereo Promotion!! For brands/ models that are not included, you will be needing to head down to either of our stores for discount inquiries. Cheers!

same problem prolly could be cable or the connectors, got silver/copper wire and it work great and than died.... no time to diagnose mind, high chances are the connectors that connect to the IEMs.

Shure 215

Hi, just saw some messages here about sound coming on and off on one side.

I had the same problem for my left. My problem was clearly at the joint between the cable and the driver. So I disconnected it, and did a cleaning. First I used a toothpick to get to the grime. Didn't work that well. Next I took a toothbrush and gave it a good brush. It worked out.

I also had problems with my cable. My 215 is rather old, prob 3 years. Wire was stiff and the connection was bad. Oh, my left driver also cracked one day and I just glued it together with UHU glue. Pretty robust little thing.

Anyway, I was about to buy a new cable (from someone here) but decided instead to get a new set. I had a moment of ingenuity... I contacted the service center and apparently they have a kind of 'loyalty' programme. If you show proof that you are a shure owner, i.e. have a set to trade in, they will sell you one at a heavily discounted price. PM me for the price of SE215 and 315. I decided to get the 315, a step up.

Initially I was really shocked when I placed the 315. The sound was thin, and didn't sound that impressive. The drivers/earpiece were also slim and smaller than my old 215. I tried a new 215 but the 315 was clearly better. So I stuck to the 315. When home, I played around with the ear tips and found that I needed the larger ones to get a good fit. With the right tips, the sound was a lot better, although I still think that the bass was slightly weaker than my old 215.

Anyway, clearly another satisfied customer, I will stick to Shure for a while and with there loyalty programme, they will clearly have me as a return customer when my this pair gives up on me.

I've not been a frequent poster here so I'm not too sure about the rules about revealing details. PM me if you want to know more.

The price has been 99 for a prolong period, so no hurry to get them.

Anyway i need some advice here, I'm looking at this for my Bro to use on his digital piano, will it be recommended?

Also, how do you rate this to a jays one+?
