  • Hotel chosen: Cameron Highlands Resort Hotel
  • Bus upgraded to executive coach

Checked in at about 10pm at the Five stars tour counter
Bus boarding at 10:30pm Golden Mile complex
Long journey with a stop at Yong Peng...

My first time experiencing an executive coach... not bad but I hardly slept during my approx 10 hrs journey (my bed at home is just so much more comfortable)

Upon reaching Cameron Highlands, we alighted from the coach at Brinchang in front of Titiwangsa tour office. We were given time to have breakfast at Brinchang (kinda spoilt my plan since most of the food I wanted to eat was at Tanah Rata).

Ate Wanton noodles at You Hoo Seafood Restaurant (cannot show the pic because will expose my bf)... but the noodles was just average. Oh and I also spotted this sight... quite nice.

Sadly... not everything can be followed in the plan.

We arrived at the hotel and left the bags with them since check-in time is at 1pm. We took a cab to Tanah Rata (RM 10).

Trying hard to locate Father's guest house since Cameron Secrets office should be near there as I marked on my map... ended up we went to Hillview apartments around there... then walked to Convent and almost enter Father's house (<-- the priest house >.<)... but we think think like not right so we ke belakang pusing...

Continued walking and saw signboard leading to Cameronian Inn... since it was on the list, we might as well try it first.
Walked in only to realise that scone serving time was over by 1/2 hr (T.T), saw Uncle Chow kopitiam signboard so continue walking...

At Uncle Chow's Kopitiam...

o53z2h.jpg

Ordered Assam Laksa, prawn noodles and 3 coloured tea (harassed by 3 flies, all super fat)
Assam Laksa not really my cup of tea as it was too sourish and salty, the prawn noodle was too salty as well. The tea was okay.

Since Hatter's cafe should be nearby, we asked the Uncle Chow's auntie for directions and she informed us the owners were out of town, returning only tomorrow night. (T.T)

Mango lassi tasted weird (not very nice)

Garlic nann and butter chicken :D Very nice the garlic nann dip in the butter chicken curry and the butter chicken pieces are tender and flavorful.

Oh the empty plate... was what remain of our roti canai (not bad) but I forgot to take pic.

After which we headed off to hail cab back to hotel

On the way saw this black cat in front of Mary Brown fast food with a huge tummy hanging down (maybe heavily pregnant or having tumour)

After an hr waiting for the change...

12693m9.jpg

rested for a while before heading off to Brinchang...

Meanwhile we also made arrangements for the tour tomorrow by checking online for the contact and calling up Cameron Secrets for full day discovery tour.

Hotel staff was helpful too, recommending to us which farms and waterfalls to visit in case we failed to contact Cameron Secrets.

To Brinchang...

2n1rnn.jpg

We walked all the way from our hotel to Brinchang town (approx 2.14km) in slight drizzle.
Saw the night market hence head off to it, although I wanted to have main meal at Oldies and goodies restaurant first...

Bought a pyjamas, 6 sweet corns, a cup of sweet corn (too salty), sweet potato balls (think bought from wrong stall, the other one had nicer colours, the one I bought tasted like fried mochi) and fried enoki mushrooms.

Finding the restaurant~ sigh... actual ground was so different from the map and oh I accidentally stepped into a hole filled with muddy water T.T while buying corn earlier.

Finally after asking around... I saw this
1409f7b.jpg

Wonder what happened.... saw good review and have wanted to eat here.

Never mind, another strike off the list and we went to the Strawberry Moments cafe next door.

1zztdok.jpg

Puff pastry was indeed not as nice as the ones we had in Singapore BUT the strawberries are oh so delicious... saving the whole dessert

72dcsj.jpg

This was really nice... sweet strawberry with sago inside (if only the sago has consistency in texture then it will be perfect)

oq964p.jpg

Bf ordered strawberry milkshake and it tasted nothing like McD's, it tasted so much better :D

After which, we took a cab back to hotel and watched X-men first class on TV.

Nice pictures with very balanced comments.

Food in CH are ok, definitely not exceptional, however they taste so much better with the cool weather. Did you try the steamboat buffet with lots of vegetables, noodles and rice vermicelli?

Mossy jungle walk at some parts were really muddy... luckily I wore socks plus Keen sandals (easy to wash). Never really take much pics here since trying to hold on to branches etc to navigate. The ang mohs in my group walked really fast...
