book tours with the travel agents there (physical office) or via ctrip. So much easier and not expensive.

If using ctrip, they will state whether the tour is open to foreigners (or not).

Sichuan is huge, much much much bigger than SG. Be realistic, for 5-6 days, u should narrow to city instead of province. Google is your best friend if u know nothing about Sichuan.

Agree with above. With 5-6 days, for some, Chengdu is all you have time for. Throw in the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base and perhaps Leshan or Dujiangyan if you want to get out of the city. The latter places are accessible as day-trips by high speed rail.

You can pair 青城山with 都江堰 for a day trip. 三星堆 museum at guangyuan is also interesting. There is a direct bus at chunxi road in front of IFS to the museum. Do get a guided tour service, else you are only looking at interesting exhibits. 文殊院 has free guided tour in the morning, not sure about afternoon. 武侯祠 is also interesting if you like warring states period history. They have a 关羽exhibition until May 2024. 锦里is just next door to have tea and watch performances (变脸or古筝)or 采儿service. Many street food options like baked durian, 钵钵鸡and etc. There is also 大慈寺at Taikoo Li. 玄奘 used to work there. Entrance fee to the temple is free.

If you planing 川西 tour better to engage local tour i guess. Otherwise chengdu main city can just use metro but be prepared to squeeze as it is damn crowded

Sorry to hijack a bit, is it positive to do both Chongqing and chengdu in 2 weeks? Or better to concentrate in one city and some day trip near this city?

Don't know what's attractive about Chongqing other than the hilly terrain and cable-cars across the Yangtze. Chengdu and Sichuan are a great deal more interesting in my opinion. You can venture into the mountains in western Sichuan, with the full 2 weeks.

Personally 2 weeks are too long but it is up to u. U might want to add Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong.

Oops. Didn’t realize your name is Natas (linked to the travel fair?)

was asking in general esp those who frequent Chongqing.
SQ no official info but other website have mention SQ lose their renewal with the Airport.

Well, check with the SIA portal.
Agree with natas. Chengdu alone got plenty to see. Don't forget to visit the Giant Panda Base, and if you want to venture out, Qingcheng Mountain and Dujiangyan are good options. They're accessible for day trips.

For those with the interest to visit eastern Sichuan, there was a mudslide on Route 318 between Kangding and Yading. Although traffic has been restored, in my opinion a roadtrip to Yading should be postponed this season.

SQ seems to be losing a lot of flight to China...now there's no more direct flight to CQ or Sze Chuan...sucks.
