Side mirror can't see during rain

Hey guys, would like to see if anyone has any long term solutions to prevent side mirrors from totally being covered by rain during rainy periods? Are the sticker patches any good ?

As you can see below, totally can't see sheet, pretty dangerous even when trying to park at night.

Three ways:

1. RainX - apply on the front windows & side mirrors, wait until haze, wipe off cleanly. This needs a bit of effort but after that water repels better. DO NOT APPLY ON WINDSCREEN.

2. Chemical Guys HydroView - can apply on any glass surface including front windscreen, same thing, if it hazes, wipe it off thoroughly, water repel will come when it's raining.

3. Glaco - I don't know which version to use, the effects aren't bad also. I think can use on front windscreen.

This 'unable' to see is due to your side window untreated, you can see water sticking to the surface, probably due to road grime & long use under weather, same for side mirror. The dirt is holding the water there and refusing to drain off. I'd get a piece of used claybar and clay the mirrors/windows first before applying if possible.

Currently I apply (1) on my shower screens at home, and using (2) on all my car windows. I practically drive without using wipers during rain.





Take note: none of the options above lasts forever, so top up and re-application is necessary over time.

RainX is sh*t. It shouldn't even make the list.

Use rainx cheapest. Will need to reapply from time to time. Can use on window also. Do not apply on places with wiper.

China way - use raw potato. User review say it works. I never try it tho.

I used RainX too, though it's not long term since need re-apply every few months.

Long term is ask detailer apply their ceramic coating on the side mirrors too.

Tip: HydroView is a ceramic coating for glass. Just that super exp... I only use it every month once to maintain the front/rear as there are wipers and side mirrors.

Also, can I apply the chemical guys in the inner wind screen or just outer only.

Claybar can be bought from Autobacs, NTUC, Automaxima (distro for Chemical Guys) and other car detailing shops. What you need is a USED claybar, not fresh one. A used claybar will be dirty and black, it won't damage the windscreen and mirrors opposed to a fresh piece.

It's safe to apply the HydroView internally on the film but I only do it on the outside. Automaxima is at YCK St64. You can look for Raymond. I buy all my ChemicalGuys stuff from them.

my car got side mirror demisters
