Sigh... My pc gave me problem

power on as per norm, 10mins of use, suddenly, abrupt shutdown

tried to power on, casing light blinks for a second or two and then thats it.

troubleshooting tt i have done..

1. swap psu / power cord
2. power on via mb switch
3. remove all rams,drives disconnected, bare system with cpu
4. clear cmos jumper and remove battery

all the above, but there's no change in the 1-2 sec boot up and died syndrome..

can't even go into bios or see anything on monitor, the 1-2 sec boot is way too fast..

what can i do? my ultimatium is MB died..

I think is don't need but...

If u change hardware might need to call windows if u are using oem. That's what I vaguely remember

I have a trick can help you revive your motherboard temporarily. Remove everything and re- Assemble do not connect to power supply for 3 day and also remove your cmos battery from motherboard no need to put back liao.

Your motherboard probably don't have short circuit protection, as what I researched mostly MSI and asrock mainboard don't have. that why will happened like this. Short circuit is cause desktop casing discharge to motherboard, make spoiled the BIOS chip, once if this issue there is 50/50% chance of recovery liao. If you use the method above I posted, if not Neither you change casing or or you find the root problem. If not your next motherboard you replace in soon will have same problem.

If you motherboard have warranty please rma immediately.

If same chipset don't need. I have changed from h67 to h61 after I hibernate windows

i'm considering, bring to sls for last attempt troubleshooting. cos if confirmed dead, can get new parts there and replace it

Might want to try changing cmos battery. Some mobo won't boot if the cmos batt is dead. (read online, for my case it wasn't the batt) But if that doesn't work then probably the bios chip up lorry maybe?

Try remove the hard disk and boot to BIOS. See if it stays there. If it does, then boot with 1 RAM modules. The main suspect is either the RAM or the hard disk. Mobo should be the lost suspect.

I tried to boot w board and cpu only , it didn't boot for more than 2sec.
Just a quick spin of cpu fan and it's dead again

will try do own troubleshooting again for another day before sending down to SLS..

earlier tried a few combinations.. same result, hdd pulled to connect to another pc, still works fine, docu and stuff all intact..

will try with basic bare troubleshooting to conclude the possibilities, i swap the sata cables also while testing it out, but still not much hope

i think i shld conclude the mb is unstable or rather dead already.
using power switch on the bottom of mb to power up with the few combinations

1.board with cpu, no ram
2.board with cpu, 1 stick
3.board with cpu, 4 sticks of ram
4.board with all sata drives connected

cpu fan spin and stop, tt's it..
if a normal working board, no ram or whatsoever there shld be beeps, but this time no beeps at all.. cleared cmos with jumper and battery removal, same outcome..
