Questions that I have in mind.

Should I sign on?
What should I sign?
Where to find out what type of contract they have?
What are the good and bad for signing on?
How long should I sign?

Depends on who do you want to sign on with?
Depends on who do you want to sign on with and as?
Depends on how long do you want to sign on for?

the moment you start asking these questions, it means that you SHOULD NOT sign on.

1) What do you intend to do after ORD? Do you intend to be an officer or just a man? If it's the former, go for it. Go and get a degree (sponsored some more) and get a career in the SAF.
2) Depends on what do you want to do. Combat (EOS) or engineering AND combat (MDES)? Not very sure about WOSE scheme though.
3) Go to the services' recruitment centre. If not, ask your superior for advice. Your Branch Hd/Unit CO is the one writing the recommendation for you to sign on.
4) Good: Service Benefits are not bad. It's what you'd get as a civil servant, plus a lot more from SAF. (okay. not a lot. a few.) You will be in a secured job (unless you sign contract instead of permanent position). Hard to fire you unless you have disciplinary/BMI issues. Bad: SAF is a uniform group. I believe many others will tell u how bad it is...
5) Depends on you.

PM me if you wanna learn more. I'm curious about ur case. :D

If u think that you will only sign on because of officer, it would be a big mistake. Because even in officer level, you will still be man(w/ degree) to another officer(oxford/cambridge scholar).

recommend you to sign on if and only if you're very sure you can handle well with routine job, love your nation, not worrying so much about career prospect and money. because if you do, you will forever stuck in a virtual cycle, comparing the amount of hours you worked with the amount of pay ratio and that makes you a very sad person.

i agreed, go talk to people in recruitment centre, people who signed on about the hardwork they spent in service and whether they enjoy doing. Think before you sign on the line but not comparing the amount of money you will be receiving to your current situation.
