The prison is under the charge of Singapore Prison Service, a separate entity from SPF.

Therefore they do not go through the same training as POs.

I passed the interview. For personality test, just be honest and consistent for your answers. The interview questions are similar like other interviews ,”tell me about yourself” “why do want to join” “what does it take to be a prison officer” “what do you know about Singapore prison”. Try to sell the “ripple effect” when answering these questions. all the best!!

What is your timeline did you receive reply after interview/personality test and after medical?

Yes I confirm that there are 3 stages. I finished my medical last week and they invited me for a job preview which is 2 weeks later. They keep saying in email that medical screening and job preview do not constitute to a job offer. Anything can change during employment process.

Thanks for the information Yes, I am attending the interview next week and if successful will be going in the Dec batch as informed by the HR. You will be going to the Jul batch I guess?

Whats the duration of the job preview like and they will confirm you after the preview?

Actually they caught me off guard during the interview when they asked a lot of situational response and leadership questions. I was just expecting typical questions mentioned below. There's no right or wrong answer but I think they want to see where your morals are grounded and how you would respond to different scenarios. It's good to know their core values especially 'integrity' and I understand that because it is a very important trait as an officer in prison environment.

Yeah I guess I'll be with the July intake. I'll update you here when I get more information during the preview!

Thanks bro! I had the interview yesterday and guess it should be alright. I just received an email asking me to attend job preview next week. Shall wait for the final status too as they indicated in the email as you mentioned, job preview doesn't mean successful yet. Keep me updated after your job preview and medical.

I have went for the job preview and it was definitely eye opening and will trigger second thought if that is what you really want for a long term career. Basically shows you around the prison and how their operations are like. The preview will take about 3 hours including debrief at the end.

I have yet to go for my medical nor sign any LOA. I am applying for DEI by the way.

There are people who receive the letter of appointment already.
Know people who received on 19/4, and 23/4. They attended the same panel interview date as me. But I have not received the LOA yet..

They need to sign the LOA by 10/5, so I guess good or bad news anytime soon.

Hi, I haven't received LOA yet bro. I'm applying for DES btw. Right now I'm not very sure if they will send me LOA. Because during job preview, I spoke with Ma'am Q and told her I'd like to withdraw my application as I want to pursue studies first.

I don't know if she passed this information to her colleagues since it's them who process our application. I'd still like to receive the LOA and see the offer tho.

Hi bro, thanks for replying I have not received LOA at the moment as I have just completed my medical last week. I guess it will prolly take at least 2 weeks to be informed of the application status. If I did not receive any update by week 3, I will drop them an email to check. How long have you waited since your medical?
