Signing on as a CDO

Hi guys! Would like to seek advice from all of you again. Very straight forward question but, would it be possible to sign on as a commando if I went tekong for my BMT instead of Hendon/PRC? Just wondering! Cheers!

Saw before an infantry lieutenant sign on as Commando. Had to go through all the trainings but in the end his beret change from green to red.

Yes it's possible. BMT isn't a limiting factor, however you may need to go through a selection, and there may be other specifics which ARC may be able to better advise you.

Yes u can. Can even change to red beret after u gotten another type of beret from what i saw.

However signing on as cdo officer now is very hard simple because theres too many of them

Sometimes I wonder commando training tougher or GCC tougher. No offense to cdo, but a lot of senior staff officer from cdo I met personally got a bit haywire. Just my personal experience la...

Yes of course! Last time I have already completed Combat Engineer Specialist training as a Sgt.... I ask my MPO to sign on as CDO... she say ok... then i hesitate... in the end never sign on...

If you sign on... you have to go through their CDO training from Day 1....

My ex-colleague was a NS Guard Specialist (He share with me more then 10 years ago & if I remember clearly, he was a NSF platoon sergeant with the rank of 2SG) & he went to Recruitment centre to sign up for Commando. After he clear his interview & medical checkup, he needs to clear his selection test (Related to Infantry such as river crossing & etc). After passing selection & signing of contract, he will needs to go for courses like CSLC, BAC & 1 relevant vocational course. He start his commando career as a detachment commander with the rank of 2SG & he do not needs to go for platoon sergeant course again.
