Hi all, I'll be travelling to Japan soon and I'm looking at getting a sim card for my Mi Note phone. However I read that the sim card (Dokomo sim card from Qoo10) I'm planning on getting may not be compatible with my phone model.

Is there any one here who experienced using Japan's sim cards on xiaomi phones such as Mi Note? I've reserved the Changi Recommends Overseas Wifi Router, but my partner wants to get a separate sim card (Mi Note too) so we can call each other in case we get separated from each other.

Would appreciate it if you guys can recommend a sim card that we can each use on our Mi Note phones.

TIA

Hi, week ago i also asking about the same question but seems no one reply too. I am using redmi note 2, appearantly from the specs of the docomo data sim, my phone able to take the signal of 2100mhz from the service LTE network. But i cant convince until i physically use it. As for mi note, i dont find any similar bandwidth with each other but was asking around and people did told me it is able to use. Cant confirm this or else i would have buy mi note before my trip in two days time. But since you have already reserved your wifi egg wif changi, then at least you have one confirm equipment and if mi note able to use the data sim then take it as a plus point and able to share your finding with others.

Hihi...yeah...I looked up the Qoo10 page and it says that their docomo sim card cannot be used on xiaomi phones...that's why I'm curious as to what other alternatives I can get. I took a look at other sim card options as well, and while they listed popular phone models like LG and Samsung, they didn't list Xiaomi so I'm quite concerned. :/

Not sure if it's the same..

I have a Huawei mifi which i brought from taobao last time..Works perfectly fine in SG even with the 4G network but the bands on the device is not compatible with Japan's 4G bands but gets connected to 3G without issue..

Umobile is on docomo's network thou.

Check the LTE bands supported by your Xiaomi note, and ask the qoo10 vendor if the network provider supports the same bands

Checked the LTE band in Japan is not compatible with xiaomi note LTE.

Also plan to get a prepaid sim when I go japan, the 3g band is compatible with xiaomi note, so I'm guessing 3g sim card might work with xiaomi note instead of LTE
