SIM card switch from ip4 to s3 HELP!!

Lost my ip4, thinking about getting a temporary replacement s3 first thing in the morning.

Still have about 5 months left on my contract. Picked the s3 due to the following reasons
1) have been thinking about trying out an android based platform for quite some time
2) sick of the iphone and itunes user experience after 4years with apple
3) of all android based platforms, samsung seems to be one of the better brands at holding resale value

which all adds up to me dropping by the friendly neighborhood mobile store in a couple of hours time.

Questions

1) Should i expect any issues with a SIM card of an iphone plan in a Samsung phone?
2) How do I go about downloading apps with the S3? Is it similar to and as user friendly as the apple store?

Both are using micro-sim, straight swap.

- power on phone
- log in using your gmail account
- search for apps in Play store (equivalent of iOS apps store)
- any apps installed or purchase will be tied to the gmail account you entered earlier
