May I know how do you fit something big into something smaller in size?

There is some kind of unofficial mod you may find online involving a micro sim attached to a ribbon flexi cable and then attached to a SIM card reader. It is kinda inconvenient, but worth googling..

You definitely have to cut it to size, or get an exchange at the respective telco you're currently on.

Ooo didn't know that one before but sounds possible with some ribbon cables and soldering.

It depends which telco you're currently on. For example, if you're on Singtel, you just go down to any Singtel Shop, go straight to the cashier and request for SIM exchange.
