Hi. I was from the 2020 January intake. Recently completed and awarded degree in November 2021. If come from Poly, regardless whether from Poly business or non-business, first two semesters take the same modules, cuz it's all Bachelor of Business.
Honestly, people only go to SIM due to either one of the two reasons:
1. They actually can go to local university (I know of one SAF officer, GPA must be 3.0 and above in order to qualify to be SAF officer, he went to SIM-RMIT), but because of their age, or simply because they want to faster go out to work, they choose SIM, cuz it's only 1.5 years (if come from Poly business) or 2 years (if come from Poly non-business).
2. Their Poly GPA cui, cannot make it to local universities. But in a way, also 撿到便宜, since SIM only 2 years if non-business, 1.5 years if business. Cuz local universities for Poly graduates is 3 years. That early come out 1 year or 1.5 years, or even 0.5 year (if their poly got one additional semester), is actually to give them a headstart in finding job. But anyway, the other possible reason is their Poly GPA cui. SIM-RMIT provides the second chance.
Anyway, if you choose the modules based on the order in the subject selection page, this semester probably very slack hor?
I have been there done that. It's slack, mainly for students to adjust to the new school environment.
Especially the ITM and AOS. Man, that time when I was in my first semester in SIM-RMIT it was 2020, before covid.
First sem really slack.
Anyway, if you got do comparison, you would realise that SIM-RMIT school fees is $30,816, if two years, which is comparable to the local universities school fees.
Whether is it second chance or just because you want it fast, SIM-RMIT learning environment is very conducive. In fact, now with recorded lectures due to Home Based Learning, you can own time own target learn the modules and write the assignments.
RMIT qs ranking is 206. Obviously lower than UOL and University of Brimingham, but nonetheless it is higher than University of Murdoch, University of Dundee, etcetera. More importantly, RMIT is well-known among Singaporeans.
Have a good learning journey bah, and gain as much research experience and knowledge as you attend the modules in your SIM-RMIT program.
By the way, by the fact that it is from SIM, which SIM was originally created by the Singapore government Economic Development Board (EDB), meant to train students to work in the Singapore economy, it means to say that the courses offered will have demand in the Singapore economy, otherwise offered by SIM-RMIT for what?
In terms of school fees and course offerings, it is comparable to the local universities. So, in a way, it is better than those people who go overseas and burn their parents' money, and end up getting a degree in fishing, etcetera, which cannot even get a relevant job in Singapore that pays the degree kind of salary.
If you got any question with regards to SIM-RMIT, feel free to ask here. I will try my best to answer the questions.
