can read up the things on their website, or go to SIM (the same place u go to for ur doc verification) they have those brochures available there tat contains all the info abt the course.

tiagong econ and finance is the most ex and tough in RMIT. fees are higher, exams are tougher, and duration also longer compared to Log.

O

LOL ive seen other such threads asking about degree courses and applications by new users and how fast the responses. This 2 users like not interested imo.

im interested in this thread only because as mentioned, i also did apply and wouldnt mind following this thread to know of fellow potential classmates. sad that this thread kinda like died cos only 2 NEW users are actually talking here (less me).

Haha, i might apply RMIT Economics and Finance if i don't get into UOL Economics. Currently waiting for the application outcome which will be released in March.

There is SIM open house on the 9th and 10th of march for those who are interested to find out more about the various partner universities/RMIT.

Hi all,

My first sem in RMIT is coming to an end!

Here's what to expect:

1. Orientation
Guys, do attend the orientation if you do not have any friends who are in the same course etc. The orientation allows you to make more friends and you may choose and take the same modules further. The lame stuffs you do are only for 2 days so its pretty fine haha.

2. Modules
You won't be given or allocate a class. You choose your own mods and at your preferred timing. So if you do so with your own timing and such, you will meet different people at different class. Each lecture is 3 hrs with given 15 mins break (depends on lecturer), no tutorials or whatsoever. Unsure of anything, just ask after class or email them. Most mods are project based. 50% proj, 50% exams. Trust me, you need to study. Some have mid sem test or quiz. For me marketing, there aren't any presentations so far due to big class so nothing to worry about. Choose your project mates wisely else you will have a shitty experience, either they do without you or you be the one tanking the whole ****.

3. Semester
One sem 4 modules, each mod 3 hours a week. Thats only 4 classes a week. Trust me you will definitely have abit of free time. Regardless of working part time or joining some companies, it is possible to manage your time and studies. And also, the start of the sem, the first month will be lecturers from Melbourne, to kick off the sem with intros and all (nothing much one).

And tadah. That's all I have to say. Good luck to those who are coming !

I actually applied for july 2018 RMIT business mgmt but I requested to transfer some of the mods which I managed to clear in UOL. Does anyhow know what are the chances that they can exempt me from a few mods which I've alrdy took it in UOL and passed? Thanks

For core modules, yes you do have the chance to meet your friends from other majors. i do recommend that you plan your class together with your friends if not you're gonna be a lonely child.

And yes i agree that you should attend the camp (i didn't go for it. ]: ) as you will be able to make some friends be it from your major or other majors. (some friends is better than none ya !) Also get the chance to dig for some resources from past years; gonna be real helpful to you.

There are no internship programme/requirement for RMIT. it is all base on your own accord.

How RMIT works is: your daily classes are lecture based, there will not or rarely be any classroom based teaching. Hence, it is not that easy to make friends in class unless you have some mutual friends around. Also, you have to take down notes in class as some extra content/examples that the lecturer gave is not within the slides.
