It's commencing on 13 August 2012 for the standard 3 years BSc course. Anyone going for the enrolment talk on July?

haiz, i apply around late march, anxious.....

Well i think it makes sense for them to accept the early birds first right? Cos I heard they do mass acceptance in batches.

same here. applied late march towards the deadline date. just gotten email for fee protection

Welcome to UOL BSc Programme (Full-Time)!

Dear Student,

A very warm welcome to the SIM-UOL BSc degree programme !

Below is an overview of the calendar of activities that will take place for the new academic year (2012/13).

(A) 2012 Calandar of Events Before BSc Classes Commence

Events

Dates (Dates below are tentative. Please check Students' Portal regularly for updates on the actual date/time)
SIM-UOL Enrolment talk
- Important briefing on UOL regulations, UOL online registration, programme requirements, SIM eCourse Registration (eCR), timetable selection and programme fee payment.


1st – 2nd week of July 2012
Academic Advice Session
- For students who may still have further queries about their course selections after attending the enrolment talk

2nd week July 2012
SIM eCourse Registration (eCR)
- Online course registration via SIM students’ portal to select courses and timetable for the first academic year at SIM


Starting week of 16 July 2012
SIM BSc Course Fee payment due date
- Payable during eCR for 4 courses (S$5136) in the first academic year
- Students who need to apply for bank loan should start to make enquiry with the banks now.


27th July 2012
Freshmen Orientation Day
- Team- building activities organized by the SIM-UOL Student Representative Council (SRC).


2nd or 3rd week of July 2012

Freshmen Orientation Camp
- 3 days 2 nights camp organized by the SIM-UOL SRC

Last week of July 2012 – Beginning of August 2012

Economics and Mathematics Preparatory Courses
· - Two complimentary 3-hour workshops will be open to all EMFSS students, except the following : (a) BSc Information Systems and Management students and (b) Students who are taking Bridging course in Economics and Mathematics to obtain further exemptions in EC1002 and MT105A
- Students will need to register for the preparatory courses after completing the eCR exercise in July


August
UOL On-Line Registration
- University Application Fees (UAF) - £70 and Initial Registration Fee (IRF) - £650
- Students to register and pay the UAF and IRF fees with UOL via the UOL student portal
- Students should only complete the UOL online registration after attending the SIM enrolment talk and completing the SIM eCR exercise.
- To access the UOL student portal, UOL will send password to your SIM email account at least 8 weeks after you have submitted SIM PEI-Student contract and SIM student card form to SIM. If you are taking SIM bridging courses, the offer pack will only be sent to you at least 8 weeks after your bridging course results are released. Students who are under SAP conditional acceptance will receive the offer pack via your personal email account.

Complete by 1 October
Receipt of UOL Subject Guides
- UOL delivers the UOL study materials to students based on the residential address given by students when they submit their registration at UOL Portal.
- Please provide a Singapore mailing address only.


October - November
Study Skills Sessions
-To equip students with relevant study strategies to cope well with the University of London degree programme
- Students will need to register for these workshops in August via the SIM student’s portal


End August – Mid September

More details on the Enrolment Talk / Orientation / Preparatory Courses / Study Skills will be posted at later date.

(D) Bridging Courses
For students who are taking bridging courses for exemption purposes, your course will start in April or June or July, depending on your selection in the SIM Application form. To access information on the bridging course (eg timetable schedule), please click on “Select A Course” on the left menu of the portal and choose the Bridging Course.

Me apply le......also going in this yr FT BSc in Business. I thought the July orientation talk is compulsory?? Meaning have to go.

If I not wrong, they touching on payment, commencement date, registration & a lot of other stuff.

Payment have to pay in pounds.....

***U will be given a piece of paper which states the questions that are easier to attempt and able to secure more marks during exams(For free if you purchase it with the textbook).

It is very important to choose the correct questions during exam because choosing the wrong questions will result u in losing unnecessary marks, especially in the case of intro to econs whereby passing is a headache for most uol students.
