SIM-UOL CERTIFICATE

Hi i would like to know more about the bachelors course offered by simge. Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Banking and Finance it stated that it is from university of London. But does it specify which school is the main school?? [For eg London school of economics and political science] in the certificate we would be getting if we successfully pass the course.

And also will the certificate have the simge logo?
[Can anyone from sim-uol take a pic of their degree if possible? ]

If things are still the same now.. There will be 2 certs. One is the SIM cert (given on your grad day) and the other is the UOL cert (self-collected at RELC). The UOL cert is just.. well.. an UOL cert. It has the UOL logo and Letter head. It also states that you have registered with University of London and passed the approved examination conducted by the London School of Economics. The cert does not have SIMGE logo.

Don't know if you are gonna do it. But just my 2 cents. Please... please... please... don't ever tell people your cert has anything to do with LSE. Singaporean employers will know you are sh**ting them. They can tell, LSE cert is different from UOL cert. Foreign employers are gonna ask you to talk about your university experience in London. Whenever my industry peers asked me where I graduated from, I just straight up tell them I was from SIM-UOL if they are local or UOL if they are not local. And that is the truth.

LSE does not give out UOL degrees.

Some UOL degrees administered through SIMGE just have their curriculum planned by LSE as a lead university. Meaning that its a conjoined effort by many different universities within UOL with LSE leading. There is no "main" school. It is very loosely related to LSE on its own.

The curriculum is also not the same as LSE curriculum. The exams are also wholly different. LSE doesn't even have a BSc in Banking and Finance. Or anything banking related for that matter.

The official LSE awards its' own degrees that are separate from UOL. It is very, very obvious when you compare a real LSE degree and a SIM-UOL degree side by side.

LSE has hardly any link to SIM-UOL, just that they set the exams and it is marked by them. Besides that, LSE is miles and miles apart from SIMGE.

LSE degree cert have a totally different design compared to UOL cert.
One look employers will know it is not LSE.
The degree you might earn from SIMGE-UOL is awarded by University of London.

I suggest you consider other honours degrees before settling with SIMGE-UOL.

It probably is the best private uni here for some of their courses. But you know, the fastest tortoise is still slower than the slowest rabbit.

There's nothing wrong with going to SIMUOL. Just don't expect it to be what its not. heck, even NTU grads won't dare compare themselves to LSE.

You can do your masters at better universities after. But that's a totally different situation. The difficulty of getting admitted into a masters programme varies widely. One can get an LSE masters in something very obscure and unpopular with not much difficulty. It really depends on what masters course you are looking at.

Masters admission is also much easier than undergrad admissions as there is little competition for most of the courses. I've seen private uni grads here in NTU doing their masters. But its in things like sociology where post-grad is not that popular and the brilliant ones go direct to Phd so the masters course has little competition for admission.

i have seen graduates trying to smoke HR personnel with their UOL certs.

once they see the cert with the big big UOL imprinted on it, they already know its from uniSIM.

my colleagues came across a guy who tried to lie about studying in UK on a scholarship. he didnt even do his homework before lying, UOL does not technically offer business programs. LSE is a branch of UOL. so if u actually went to UK to study business at UOL, you will grad with a LSE cert.

I suggest UniSIM Finance part-time.

Although it is not a honours degree, but it seems like UniSIM is working hard to expand the number of professional qualifications that their finance students can get exemptions from.

If you feel lucky and prepared, you can try to roll the dice for their full-time honours programme.

Get a first class honors for your degree, and then save up for masters at LSE. This is what I'm aiming for now.
