SIM-UOL Computing and IT

Can anyone tell me if this course is good? And summarise what exactly you learn, although I’ve had a look at the modules. Also since I’m only Dependents pass holder and UK A level certificate, what grades will I require to receive a offer? I’m trying to keep my options open, have already applied to Uni of Melbourne and SiT amongst others. Please tell me grades required to guarantee entry.

Nah, once I signed up to my main options, I took a break now looking back. Don’t think I should do accounting just because SIM is a backup. after discussing with parents and Consultants. My main options at my other unis were mainly BSc in mechanical systems or Computing. So I was wondering if the UOL course is worth it... also if I apply now what grades would I need considering I’m a DP. Heard anyone can get in regardless of citizenship and grades?

In general, the course is manageable so long as you regularly attend classes AND concentrate, and do your own revision. It might not be as comprehensive as the courses that are taught in local U, but I suppose there's a perk to it - you've got ample time to explore other areas of IT on your own, such as picking up a new programming language.

I'm no expert, but IMO, technology acts as the backbone of every industry - all the apps, software and hardware fueling businesses. Plus, with SG moving towards a smart nation, I believe that there will always be a demand for IT people.

i think it would be close to at least $1500, possibly more, given that median salaries for IT courses in local Us are reaching $4000-$4500.
