Hi guys, may i know if this course is easy to adapt? I read a previous thread about this and everyone was saying it's difficult. However, the SIM staff told me some modules are changed for this year's intake. Can anyone shed some light pls? :)

And what are the textbooks used in this course?
Can anyone sell me their old textbooks? :D

I just finished this course this year. This course is certainly the toughest among all the other BSc courses. If you are thinking of enrolling, do put more effort into studying in year 2 or 3. I was under the old syllabus, where students used to have difficulty adapting from year 1 to 2, due to the jump in difficulty from Maths 1/2 to Adv Calculus/Linear Algebra. This is no longer the case from the batch of 2012. They now study two full units: Algebra and Calculus to bridge the gap for year 2 mods. Adv Calculus/Linear Algebra have also been modified slightly and changed to Further Calculus/Algebra with fewer rigorous topics.

You don't really need any textbooks for the year 1 topics at my time, not sure about the new mods (Algebra and Calculus).

I am a non BME student in BSc Economics programme. I am planning to take abstract math as an elective. Any advice on this module? Is it hard to pass/scoring? I'm confused...
Thanks
