SIM-UOM vs SIM-RMIT

I"ve just graduated from sim diploma in management studies and was accepted in SIM university of manchester. However, im having second thoughts about whether it is a right choice as it is a part time course. It is a 2 years part time courses or Should I have went to RMIT where it is only 1.5 years.iIn term of prestigious wise I believe it is more prestigious, but a lot of people have never heard of UOM and I'm afraid it will not be easy getting a job as compared to RMIT where there are a lot of RMIT holders. Need some advices regarding this.

Manchester is an honours degree, within top 200 globally.
RMIT is not an honours degree in singapore.

The "a lot of people" is who? If they are your friends or random people, don't give too much credit to them. Are you working now? You may want to seek opinion from your HR or supervisor.

Else you can google search people with the manchester degree locally on LinkedIn to see what jobs they are having,

If you are looking for full-time management honours degree in SIMGE that is within top 200 globally, you can consider birmingham.

Please do yourself a favor and accept the UOM offer. Its a top 100 school with honours and part of the renowned Russell group in the UK. Any diligent HR that does their homework will hire the person with the UOM cert rather than the RMIT if looking at purely just the paper.

SIM UOM has an relatively stringent entry requirement. On the other hand, RMIT accepts anyone as long as they pass their diploma. This perhaps partly explains why no one knew about UOM and why there are so much RMIT grads on the streets.

However if you ask me, just take the cheapest, fastest degree that is easy to score and reasonably reputable will do.

Thanks for all the help guys! You guys certainly helped me a lot !Nope I'm currently not working as I've just graduated and I wanted to see how intensive is the course before deciding to take up a job. I guess the fact that it is a PT course And they are night classes kinda affects me. Anyway I don't think the cert reflects if it is a part time course right? I've thought about Birmingham too but they commence school next year June/July which is kinda long and I can start Manchester next week. Once again greatly appreciate all your help!

The transcripts definitely reflects uom as a part time course. But end of the day, it doesn't matter because to employers, SIM is SIM...

I used to work in HR Industry. Can you share with us what is the different in term of contribution to the organization between UOM & RMIT graduate? Do you mean HR practitioners MUST base on university ranking for recruitment?

I used to work in HR Industry & mostly I will group organizations into 3 groups.

1) Only Big3 universities such as NUS, NTU & SMU. UniSIM, SIT & SUTD is out!

2) As long as it is a REAL degree, they will recognize it (since they does not involve professional degree such as Engineering for Professional Engineer).

3) What boss like is recognize & what boss don't like is not recognized.
