If mobile devices are not on tpg's list of supported devices, both voice caller & receiver on wifi internet connectivity probably will have no issue.

However if on mobile data connectivity, the mileage may vary (eg difficulty in receiving incoming calls).

Always have backup plan if involving very senior parents.
Thank you. It was an old model samsung 4G phone not supported by TPG. So only way use the tpg voice app. I will inform my friend to think of backup plan.

Some countries can call using the dialer no problem (eg Malaysia on Yes). Most other countries can call using the Simba Voice app (tried in Italy, France, Germany, UK)

Very useful feedback for readers who may still have some doubts in giving these competitive plans a try when venturing overseas.

Your comments are I presume made on an 'unsupported' mobile device on mobile data connectivity only (with no wifi or wifi turned off).

Any problems in receiving incoming calls ?

Anyone has feedback on roaming in Thailand? Is it reliable or fast enough or should get local SIM instead?
So went to Thailand, worked with w TPG roaming albeit a little slow at random. Got the SUPERROAM which was incredibly worthwhile. Side note, can consider getting AIS e-sim for devices that support it, connection works fine too, just have to ensure its setup with WIFI to activate the e-sim. Will definitely keep the TPG plan for future usage.

*Questions* Help Needed *

Hi everyone, just wanted to ask how is the coverage for SIMBA now? My mom is planning to switch to their senior plan and to be honest I have not done much research about this apart from reading this thread about user experiences. Just have a couple questions:

1. My mom's using an old iphone like 7 and above, can she make calls directly from the dialer if I setup to make sure it uses VoLTE? I can't imagine her having to deal with a separate app for phone calls.

2. Coverage decent? We live near Queenstown / Redhill and she doesn't really venture far to the ends of Singapore staying mainly around the central area.

3. Data Roaming shouldn't be an issue as she hardly uses her phone on holidays. But it would be nice to be able to make roaming calls to and from her phone in case of emergencies. Any experiences with this?

4. 4G Speeds are ample for her and some network outage is normal and ok so I don't see an issue for her. But feel free to comment if slow downs or outages happen a lot.

Please, any help / input / comments is greatly appreciated! THANK YOU

  • 3. How to make VoLTE calls?

Generally, the VoLTE supported handsets will show VOLTE near the signal bar to indicate that it is enabled. Once the VoLTE indicator had been displayed near the signal bar, go to the phone dial pad and dial the number which you want to reach.

    • iPhone – Most of the iPhone from iPhone 7 and above. The default iPhone setting stays VOLTE OFF and need to be enabled manually via VoLTE toggle in Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > VoLTE is set to ON

Yes, LTE smooth like butter but will need a phone that is compatible with Japan LTE bands there like iPhone 11 or SE(2020) that supports LTE bands 11 & 21..otherwise, connection might not be as smooth.

No disconnect even a single bit even country side with iPhone 11 but down half the time with iPhone XS as I’ve 2 Simba line

Can you guys help me deduce the problem here:

1) Got an unlocked Note 20 U, pop in the SIMBA SIM, auto roaming etc everything on - does NOT work but showing 'R'

2) Took the SIMBA SIM out, put it in Vietnam and Singapore iPhone, works well and have 4/5G lol...

3) Back to my unlocked Note 20 U, purchased a Vietnam SIM - works and 5G works too.

So, the SIMBA SIM works on both Vietnam and Singapore iPhone, everything worked flawlessly :ROFLMAO: But, does not work on an unlocked Note 20 U?:s11: If so, how come on 3) a Vietnam SIM works ? o_O

01. Try another Singapore SIM card.

If it still cant work. Means the device is not unlock.
