Porting process will not proceed until one has collected / received and activated his or her new sim card.

Hi all, I signed up for SIMBA Esim 2 days ago as secondary line. Everything working as intended although cannot receive 5G(ip14pm).

Just wondering if in future I were to get a new handset, I can just go to any service Center to get the QR code for $5 right? No need to go kaki Bukit or orchard central as it is not replacement from physical sim to Esim? Below copied from SIMBA website.

Can I switch my SIM profile to another device?

Your SIMBA SIM profile is non-transferable. Any change in device will require a new QR code. You may walk into any SIMBA Service Centre and request for a new eSIM QR

Code. A $5 fee will apply.

SIMBA has to get its 4G up to speed first before talking about its 5G LOL!
They're not necessarily related. While 5G was advertised for "speed" by other telcos because that's what they hoped to sell, the other important gain is coverage. This is especially if they're only adding 5G stations because it makes no sense to deploy 4G now. This especially because they need to deploy 5G SA, which are not compatible.

TPG was gambling on 1) deploying NSA, and 2) using Huawei stations for that. Both are problematic now.

You can be on 5G and still have 10Mbps/2Mbps like now but have improved reception.

Let's hope so.

Coz with the current rate of its data speed, be it 4G or upcoming 5G. It can be disheartening for its subscribers as sim plans are getting cheaper and cheaper with more benefits by other operators.

IMHO.
Eh.... low cost $10 plan started by TPG. Just that now others are providing.
There will always be users that prefers the higher speed and also not needing the roaming.

TPG bandwidth seems to be fixed. In non-residential area, the bandwidth is fixed higher. In residential areas, the bandwidth is fixed lower. Just need a group of users to stream video and the lower-bandwidth-residential-areas will drop way below 5 Mbps.

those that able to get 5G SIMBA on their phone, do install nPerf app on your phone to help map the 5G areas of SIMBA. 5G areas are quite extensive now.

I think is the roaming partner u connected to. And like Singapore, certain area are good with Telco 1, but bad with Telco 2. Meaning to say depends on area and Telco.

Singtel have maxis, celcom, Digi as its roaming partner.

Simba currently only have celcom and digi
https://en.ocworkbench.com/simba-added-digi-malaysia-as-roaming-partner/
But they recently removed digi.
Not in the latest list.

https://support.simba.sg/hc/en-us/a...l-partner-network-operator-s-per-destination-
Maybe not removed but merged
"This reason is because Celcom and Digi have merged into celcomdigi. That is probably the reason why subscribers can now roam on either network."

So I think overall Singtel should have better coverage. I am talking about Singtel Telco itself and not mvno provider like gomo as they probably have different roaming partner.

But I tried Simba roaming in Malaysia. Coverage is good. That time I went in, my wife was using gomo roaming. Simba seems better in coverage. Slow but still available compare to gomo, totally offline.

Good about Simba is celcom support volte and u can call back Singapore +65 mobile number for free or +65 land line (deduct from your free call quota). No idd charges.

Check out Malaysia Telco coverage below.

Hi @WuRenJi, thank you for sharing your roaming experience. As we understand that your family member was facing roaming issues on her GOMO service, do drop us a message via her GOMO app or gomo.sg (scroll at the bottom of page) for immediate assistance.
