TPG champion lar.....their website registration form coded by monkeys is it? When signing up for their $5 senior citizen plan, email address field IS NOT a mandatory field. Submitted all required particulars then realize did not fill in email address. Now can't access my account and also don't know whether can go collect the sim card since i don't have confirmation email. Tried emailing their support also bo lang respond. Sigh......looking at comments and reviews for this company......think they quite hopeless and high risk of closing shop and disappearing overnight.

Seriously I do not understand why people wants to sign up paid TPG service while it is still a half-baked telco now. Even the senior $5 plan looks more attractive with much more data but the usability is easy questionable.

I am still using their trial plan at home as a replacement home broadband because it is totally free still but seriously I won’t use it as a mobile line at all.

I think can still bring IC go down. I don't remember that they check for my confirmation email when I went to collect sim few months ago. IIRC they told me last time that online is only pre-registration. Have to go down before they actually register me into their system and the plan started on the day when I went down to collect sim.

Didn't signup back when they were offering free trial and don't think they offering free trial anymore. Helping my folks look for the cheapest sim only plan with some data for safe-entry check in usage. Settled on this TPG seniors plan even though their notoriety for non-existent customer service is well known.

Thank you for the info. So basically this whole signup online process is nothing more than a indication of interest and the actual registration and activation of sim card only occurs when you head down for self collection. Think will go down to their outlet to check it out tomorrow. If can't collect then at worse i signup to other carrier at no loss since there isn't any upfront payment.

If u signing it for elderly u should even avoid TPG at all cost.

TPG has poor coverage underground or indoor, letting ur elderly to use TPG, u are making urself tougher. You may receive constant complaints from them against the no coverage etc.

Since they are elderly, they are unlikely to use so much data, either StarHub or Singtel one will suit them perfectly. And they will need to worry about coverage issue at all.

What they need should be a reliable telco that gives the best coverage, stable connection for emergency contact purpose or even safe entry.

I signed up for the old folks too and it's been OK to date, coverage in shopping malls & hospitals etc are OK. Don't normally take MRT so cannot comment on the lack of network underground but it should be noted as well that some older phones need to install TPG apps to enable voice calls, both outgoing & incoming.

TPG waived the 2nd month fees "as a token of appreciation" :s11: not sure why but I appreciate it.

Their Orchard Branch was the only one handling old folks (senior) plans not sure if that has changed.... remember to bring your parents NRIC and letter of authorization.

the website and online customer service is bad, but won't be closing shop so soon, they had invested $$$$$$$$ in set up hundreds of basestations all over in singapore, hard to disappear overnight.

I think there were other centres beside Orchard Road...for eg, at Hougang Central.

Anyway, one got to be young, not working or not studying, a kind of jiakloaobee living off his father, to need an all Singapore coverage plus the fastest speed available to download blah blah blah. :s13:

Those of us who are working, me included, often don't even have the time to go to the toilet to berak, what do I need all those for? How many hours do I spend inside a tunnel?

I use the phone for communications mostly using WhatsApp, and that's when I'd need data. At times, I used it to check information on Google and again, I'd need data. When I do Safe Entry, or use my SingPass, I'd need data. TPG far more that met my needs and had coverage at all these times when I needed data. PS: I don't use my phone to watch Tik Tok. That's for ginna pi.

I wonder if those who keep saying "My Singtel, GOMO, Starhub, M1 etc are faster and have better coverage" are just jealous because they signed up for an expensive deal. :s13:

The $5 plan for Old Folks is a damned good deal. :o

TPG is okey when you don't need customer service. Once you need Customer Svc you will know how hard is to get them.

Email mai reply and i have to go down TPG collection point for help. Was told a hotline will be setup soon to allow customer to reach them. But with $10 svc not sure when the hotline would be available.

As I travel a lot on Circle and downtown line. Without network does bother me and I can't whatapp.

Support worst than pre-paid card . But only have blame myself for to sign up the $10 plan.

You signed up the line, knowing it's limitation on network coverage. Now you want to blame TPG for that. :s11:

Well I do know that mrt coverage was limited when I sign up. It a good to have for underground coverage but since my main usage is backup internet since I been working from home.

My second internet fiber has been setup a month ago. So when I been trying to reach out to TPG for termination for 3weeks still can't get them to process my request. Email twice no reply. Facebook message them mask as read but no reply.

When upset me is I still can't get the someone to terminate the line since my 2nd fiber is up. Wasn't expecting like termination was so difficult as a paid customer

Spoken to the CSO while I was collecting the SIM Card on behalf of parents... to get immediate line termination, just go to one of their branch location.

Another chap also shared an email address of a particularly efficient lady in TPG for line termination in this thread. Just need a bit of elbow grease to get things done.

most people here know about the mrt coverage problem, why sign up when you need to use data on mrt ?

Hi,

Can someone help share the email of the lady to contact for cancellation? Been trying to contact their CS email for 3 months now with no reply other than the auto reply saying they are experiencing high volume.

Her email address is for internet use only, not meant to be revealed in this forum. Thus our termination request emails can only be sent to the general address.

Try forwarding your original email to that CS address again, now, just to refresh it and I believe you'll get a reply by this week, if not the next couple of days.

Anyone feels that during trial their 4g speed is faster than subscription one now?

I think so.

I am using trial plan. I have no issues in terms of speed etc.

My housemate who is on $10 plan, he said the speed and stability are not good.
