Has anyone experienced delays receiving SMS? I had to re-authenticate a bunch of apps, and the OTP SMS for all were delayed well past expiry. And when they did arrive it was all at once for multiple apps/attempts. I even switched phones to exclude phone issue. I live in top-floor HDB, surely location's not an issue?
IMHO.
If you mobile don't have speed issue, then it is unlikely because of your location.
AFAIK, usually living on the upper floors of super tall HDB will have issues because the base station coverage is usually on the ground.

P.S. I have TPG but don't use it for OTP.

Nope, quite immediately, i lived on 16th floor

My otp from singlife, ocbc, uob, scb, etiqa, cimb, rhb, singapura finance, capitastar, healthy 365. I am still using 2yo+ mi note 10

But my mother using CL $0, sometimes got this delayed or never get OTP, i upgraded her phone to redmi note 9T 5G

Thanks for the insight. 4G data seems to be a problem from my home too, though I assumed SMS being as basic as it is would somehow sidestep the usual issues. Looks like I'll have to go to the ground floor to complete my phone restoration lol

Thanks. Mine's 13th. Do I chalk this up to poor coverage in my area (Geylang) then?

I see there's no difference between the $10 sim only plan and prepaid plan. Actually what would be the points to note and factors to consider?

It's about direction as well (where the base station is located with ref to your unit). For example, me on low floor, living room full bar with D/L speed @15-18Mbps. Minus 1 bar with 5-7Mbps if in bedroom and almost no network in the toilet.

Yeah it goes up and down to as low as 1 bar. 4G/LTE status only appears intermittently. Never seemed to be this iffy when I was on M1 or RedOne.
IMHO.
My understanding is that TPG have 2 bands but no idea how the mobile will "decide" between the two.
So at times when I am in a location that have poor speed, I just turn the flight mode on and then off again in the hope that the mobile will "switch" band - sometime I will get better speed.

Hi, currently I'm using TPG 4G voice app in my redmi note 3. And I'm facing a problem can only call in/out via wifi but not phone data connection.

Anyone have same problem..... been struggle in this issue for some time. Any kind soul can advise? Thank you.

Edited: At last solved it by swapping the sim card to another card slot. Cheers.

This is really a long thread and im sure someone had already brought up similar questions:

I had been using a TPG sim since trial period (which I subsequently continue to use with a monthly price of 10$) on the head unit of my car, purely for data streaming. I did not bother to find out the speed since spotify, youtube, google map does not need high bandwidth, was until yesterday I sign up another sim for my ipad and clicked on speed test to find out the speed, which was about 3-5Mbps.

My M1 sim on my phone is getting 60 to over 100Mbps without breaking sweat, I know its not a far comparison as the M1 is on a very powerful phone while the TPG is on the ipad, but I would expect them to be near in terms of performance. Am I expecting too much from a 10$ sim?

How about you guys?

Coverage is better for tpg.
M1 speed is much better.

I still prefer singtel - Starhub - tpg - m1

I would ranked tpg at the end in terms of coverage stability and speed. But I do like their 10$ deal.

But it's also a big disappointment that u cannot manage all tpg services in one portal. All numbers are individually managed, even u have the same name, email address and address, there is no facility to manage all numbers at once. And although there is an app from the store that allows u to login via otp, there is no function in that app to let u change your default login password, so in a way, security is compromised.

And not to mentioned that the web login is recently experiencing some problem and does not load. So much from a communication tech company ... But love the 10$ deal, still! Lol

My TPG speedtest at this moment is 1.44 Mbps down and 2.62 Mbps up. 🤣
For the price, a bit of hiccup along the way is ok so far.

Totally agree, I am also in the look out for 'real' Telco on less than 20$ deal. If sh, m1, or St have good deal at 15$ inclusive of caller id and such, it's worth a jump!

Of course this TPG is a no brainer at this moment due to the 100gb, free data roaming into some countries, free caller id, etc ..

Using TPG will keep the others in check. 🤣
