...this morning just ported to simba but cannot make calls(in&out)on my redmi note 9 phone...anyone facing this problem?? volte is enabled but didn't show the logo on the status bar....what should I do?? only way is to install the simba voice app?? data connections is great.

I am using Redmi note 9 too. The VOLTE was working initially, but when MIUI was upgraded last year, it just stop working even when the VOLTE option was enabled.

However after MIUI was upgraded to MIUI 13, everything is working fine now. Please update your phone to MIUI13. Good luck.

mine still miui 12, no prompting to upgrade to miui 13...how did you manage to get miui 13???

Go to Setting > About phone and tap on "check for updates".
Mine was just updated last week.

if not u dun mind manually update as u can go over to this website to download it package (the update files) onto your phone and go over to update to update through the package.

adding a data point.. roaming to bintan was seamless, there was only network at the ferry terminal thou. No network at all at resort (Cassia Bintan).

After you got down from ferry terminal and enroute to resort also no data available?

Time to bring mantou with me on public transport. j/k. I know you meant streaming.

Anyway, it has noticeably better bandwidth than when I was using Changi Mobile's $8 plan in my regular locations, and that's saying something. NetworkCellInfo also suggests that signal strength is stronger (about 10-20dB stronger in some cases), especially on the trains. Battery life drain on my A52s remains neutral tho.

tried * # * # 86583 # * # * not working but thread #3258 also using redmi note 9 and got his phone updated last week....anyway wait for it to update if not port out after 2nd billing

I would say better than just 'basic'. I have been streaming Netflix, Disney+ & AppleTV at max resolution (for my iPad) on SIMBA for the past few months with little to no issue.

It might not score on the speedtests, but it is fast enough to do what I need.

do i still need to modify APN etc in iPhone XS -IOS15.6.1? Can latest telco profile auto set the APN settings etc? I got bad experiences as olden days last 1.5 years ago I need to set APN manually but become blank after quite sometime or restarted phone etc. Mobile was using 7Plus with IOS 14.x...Since then I switched to CL and now want to get as backup mobile to surf for data mostly.

Just slot in the SIM card and it should also set the APN to TPG. No need to manually set anything.

no network enroute to resort but strangely when on ferry back to sg there was smartfren network on parts of the journey
